Point #1 - Why can't the new users have a special new user forum? They have to post x amount of times before they are allowed to post anywhere else on SRF, although they could browse anywhere to view all of SRF. Meanwhile, current members can reply to posts in the new users' area to assist them, help them learn the basics, rules, regulations, etc. When a new user has enough posts (and the green light from the mods) they can be promoted to a member and have access to post on the other areas of SRF.
Point #2 - Members need to learn to discuss and disagree without insult. It's ok to 'agree to disagree' and not call someone a noob, moron, or other choice term. Flames are also not needed.
Point #3 Current members seem to know what kind of posts will exhibit a negative response from the general concensus and should refrain from even posting it. Common sense, ftw. If you read it and you know it's going to tick someone off or cause flaming due to its content, then you are better off to not post it. If a pattern is discovered, then put some restrictions on that user!
I'm sure the mods here have it all covered as best they can, so no need to go any further - It's up to us members now to do the rest. If we all have respect for our fellow board members and show some better manners, everything here would be fine.
just my 2 cents.
