they're pounds and I don't get it.

Are we talking about the scarf? Yeah that's just us stupid Puny Europeans actually making an effort to look good even for the smallest moments.

I mean, it already took me 30 minutes to get into my skinny jeans this morning, my total time in front of the mirror today was an Hour, including doing my hair, looking at myself, seeing if shit matched and all that stuff.. and I only had school for what, 15 minutes? And it'll take me another 15 mins to take it off again tonight.

Yeah...

Dude, my point is that Europeans don't settle for something like tracksuits to go out. We make an effort to actually look good and done when we go somewhere public. (Well, most of us do really.)

I'm a metrosexual.

Yeah...

Hahaha. Well, my process of making myself look pretty is similar, but not so bad. It doesn't take me too long to squeeze into my undersized skinny jeans and shirts (paper thin legs ftw, seriously). My biggest problem is I'll put on 10-15 different outfits trying to decide what it is I want to wear -.-

I spend a good hour in front of the mirror, at least. Straightening my hair takes around 25 minutes, including warm up time for the straightener, although when I buy a new one it will be cut by 10 minutes or so (my straightener sucks, seriously). Then styling said straightened hair takes a while, too. Pimple treatments, teeth treatments, re-changing my entire outfit, trying to find the perfect amount of stubble.. bah! Getting ready sucks balls.

But back on topic, those prices are insane! All that money for a scarf just so it doesn't match someone else's scarf? Goddam. I bought a $10 scarf from DangerField and it's epic! No way would I 'budget' 600 pounds on a friggen scarf. I would much rather pay for rent for a month >_>

We Westerners understand that. But we know when we shouldn't do something, their is no point or a MALE to do all of that unless it is a special occasion.
I can understand girls but a guy spending that long just seems useless.

Considering the Pound is actually the highest currency atm then yeah.

I just bought a 12 bucks tunnel scarf (you know, the round one you just have to wrap on) and I don't care if my sister has exactly the same one because my personality is so much prettier than hers.

Read Twilly's post. Now back to me. To back to yourself. Now back to me.

I am the man women love becuase I make an effort. Srsly, I just finished on this article from the Quote(dunno if you have it there too, it's a men's magazine with a lot on money and stuffs) and it was about Armcandy, 20 beautiful and successfull smart women talking about what they want in a man. All 20 mentioned: "My ideal man ahas to make an effort to look good, don't care if it makes him prettier than me." < or something in that direction.

I just do what I can do become their man.

Coming from a guy who calls himself a 'metro', I can say this is one of the silliest things I've ever heard. Why shouldn't a male go to that kind of effort? Are you really so close minded and sexist that you believe only women should try and look their best whilst men shouldn't care about their apperance 99% of the time?

I 'prettify' myself basically any time I go out, par work or just buying some milk up the street. My main reason behind doing it, apart from making myself look the best I can, is to feel the best I can. I'm not sure if other people get this, but I get an insane confidence boost when I can look in the mirror and say "yeah Twilly, your looking snazzy today!" I walk outside and everything I do is done with a lot more confidence. And a bit of a tip here: people love confidence. I use to be very shy and didn't get out of my shell much and my social status reflected it. Now I've found since I'm a lot more confident, people are just sort of gravitating to me. I find myself the centre point of many discussions even when I don't want to be. I find that really attractive store clerks flirt with me without me trying to initiate anything, and I'm way out of their league. I even get random people come up and talk to me for no goddam reason at all! It's awesome I swear it.

I swear, I'd never go back to just waking up, slapping on any old clothes and leaving the house. Should one gender be restricted to making themselves feel better? God no, that's just plain silly.

Don't get me wrong, real beauty comes from within. But filling yourself with confidence by making yourself look pretty is a great way to let that inner side shine.

nothing wrong with spending time trying to look good, but to pay quite a bit for a scarf just to "trump" someone else seems stupid/like a waste.

People do the most ridiculous shit ever just to trump them. This woman clearly just wants to be an individual seen by her style.
Don't get me wrong, I love blending in, but my personal style is so much different from other people. Today: Gray skinny jeans, black/white/silver high top sneakers, black deep v-neck shirt, gray cardigan with black on all the ends, a charcoal blazer with grey lining on the ends, my big ass black tunnel scarf mentioned above, my mix-style star black giant headphones and my black and white Converse bowler bag.

I've seen people walking around in clothes that are so typical, you can just point out and go: H&M, G-Star, Reykjavik, C&A, V&D, CoolCat. Most people wear the clothes they wear to look cool, but sometimes you'll find that rare person that is who he is and that's that, there and obvious, like with me, I'm all over the place. Look at Lady Gaga. She wouldn't be the person she was today without her insane style. Look at Beyonce, Kanye, late mr. Jackson, Andre 3000. All their personal style matching their personality and always up with their outfits.

People have their own colors, mine being black white and gray, other will have a different style and they just wanna show it. let them.

Style is something personal you use to either express or hide your own personality. And that woman clearly wants to be seen as an individual with her own personality. If she'd be the third mom with that scarf, where would she be?

Squirt's always wrong. He'd make a great nominee for the Punchbag award.. Shame I already nominated someone else.

Ohh you be good sir. If I were to choose I'd go for either Design or Branding.

Though I first want to know what Branding really means, but in Design would make me be compared to those uber uber uber uber uber uber uber gays from Project Runway...

I understand people following fashion trends because they want to look good and improve their self-confidence but this is just going too far. Trying to trump other people by purchasing "the latest item" is simply ridiculous and is a huge waste of money. Then again, if we look at our own daily lives, we keep wanting to upgrade our stuff and there's always a slight sense of satisfaction when you have stuff no one else does.
