I was about to disagree but well... Just remember to use a character that you like.

I never said that a warlock can tank. You said that warlocks die way too easily, and I disagreed with that. You don't need "rough" defense (magical and physical defense) to be able to survive. For survival, most of the time disabling your enemy is way better than "rough" defense, and a pro warlock is pro at disabling and even controlling your enemy. If you can control your enemy, you don't need to heal either. Anyhow only people who know how to use their warlock can actually "control" their enemies.

And is it possible to control your enemy when only a few skills work against clerics?

Possible it is, but way harder than if it was against someone who is not a cleric. If it's at least a good cleric you'd be fighting against, it'd certainly be a somewhat tough fight, but still it'd be nowhere near impossible, as long as you know what you are doing. Any warlock can fight people with holy word/spell, that's a fact. Just ask any good warlock if you don't believe me.

In the end, in a fight between a cleric and a warlock, I'm almost sure that the winner would be the one with better skills (if both suck, the cleric is more likely to win imo).

For cleric, probably the best option would be protector for the cleric rod passives
(which enable you to tank with cleric rod + shield and healing). If you intend on rapidly changing weapons and healing, then you could go for robes so you'll consume less MP.

If bard then go robe as you are a pure STR and your bigger need is magical defense, not physical defense. With garment you also have awesome speed with bard speed buffs + garment.

pyro93 wrote:Where can I find a pros and cons of bard and cleric sub? all in one post.

  • Rogue/Bard
Excellent moving speed, will rarely get hit at PvE because of the "Noise" skill which makes aggressive mobs ignore you (only champions and giants will actively attack you, others will attack only if you attack them first). You probably will not be using MP potions at all, because you'll be able to 'heal' your MP with the "Mana Cycle" skill. You can also act as a bard and buff your entire party with speed and tambours, but then you wouldn't be able to attack.
  • Rogue/Cleric
Slow moving, good survivability. Not so good at PvE because it lacks moving speed and Noise. This one can heal and resurrect though. Better at 1vs1 pvping than rogue/bard. Can cast awesome defensive buffs (for you and your party). Will save HP pots because of it's healing skills.

Summarizing:

Bard = Speed; Cleric = Survivability.

Good enough? :P

I'm in a bit of a situation...

I've got a lvl 90 rogue, FF in xbow dags at like 88 so almost FF farmed. I'm sub cleric at lvl 82 with recov dev. 8...i like cleric but since the new cave is coming out what do you think is better? Bard for speed and noise so i wont have a bunch of mobs attacking me or cleric to be able to have a 4sec pot delay instead of 15. I've kinda started the switch to bard but i die everyonce in a while if i get a party mob on which is really annoying. When i had cleric up to 82 it took 2 mobs on me to die. So what do yall think?

Definetelly stay cleric. In caves you cannot evade being attacked by multiple mobs. As a rogue/bard you will be attacked by only giants and champions, but without rec divison and bless spell you will definetelly die to 2+ monsters(happens to much times in caves)
As a rogue/cleric you will be attacked by everything, but you will be able to survive, which is very important at the time where 2%xp means 1/2 hours of grind. + You are better in pvp +you are already have a cleric sub anyways. Why should spend money or lose 20% sp ?

though yes you could mana cycle your mp, with any str sub bard this isn't 100% practical, the mp cost of mana cycle is quite high and to do this you'd have to keep using it almost as soon as it runs out, not only the weapon switching you'd loose crossbow extreme, which you really want on except for when you need to tank a giant, its just not pracitcal to do.

An int sub bard can get away with it a bit better, only wiz/ sub bard is this practical you get mp to last you for a good while longer then an str, and you don't have a weapon and sheild to put back on just a weapon which won't lag up or fail to switch after mana cycle.

Don't get me wrong i prefer sub bard for rogue because i love speed and noise. Noise is also good for jobbing, as a trader you can save on kits and go right thru agro areas. The discord wave is good to lure mobs onto a trader if you're trying to kill a 1 star/ kill plvls. And noise lets you drop back into stealth very quickly even in aggro areas that would be hard in normally.
