s/s has fear, dull and stun, sooo that is like all the good parts of spear except for knockback.

S/S will always be superior on full int because of the defense. It just costs a hell of a lot more SP than Spear. Hybrid Spears are matched with S/S or better.

In my opinion, everything with Sword and Shield (Blade & S/S) > everything with big stick in your hands (Spear & Glavie)... Annoying knockdowns + statuses are overpowered.

Just think about it this way. Wearing garments a s/s has enough mag def to tank decently out of snowshield (vs. an INT). and has the ability to hit ironwall after snow for 15secs more life against a str.

carry both. s/s for usual then when u see a nuker u cant kill well.....spear nuke them in snow

Spear. Nuclear has a point mentioning the 15 sec buff, use that right and you are a winner against most of the noob INTs that don't know how to play. Not a skill to be overlooked.

120s is enough to reverse the situtation in job war 8)
If i used 15s buff + mana shield + 15s buff, i clearly have 30s more def than a S/S. Then kill him is a piece of cake.

S/S especially with kd and iron wall with iron wall on your practically invincible unless you get teamed by alot of pure ints.

you can counter his move with a snow shield of your own?

Surely it can disperse the damage recieved,
but if a S/S opposes Spear with his snow shield + his actual shield,
he will disperse at least 10% or more with a good block ratio

well fear is 20 seconds for the euros, so Nuclear will have 10s more
but + 5 seconds of stun or an attack impediment by KD or stun
and its even

it depends on skill/gear/lag/luck obviously
but if everything is even (doubt it :roll: ) then a spear nuker would win because of the mag def increase AND the blocking increase (actually useful here :wink:)

not to mention kb, dull, and stun

very valid and nice arguments.

i'm spear and of course wish nukesilo calculations work. but i would still think advantage to sword because of the additional defense from shield and blocks. it would really suck for the sword if all it takes is just a nuke+ghost(+shouts if needed) and cant get a block in.

oh ... i'm spear cuz i dun like the greater sp needs of a sword.

it depends on your choise
they wont make a build stronger then another one
every build has strong and weak points

what i meant with even was that the shield blocks some attacks and cuts down the probability of an effect status, whereas the hits recieved have more impact, since the S/S has less life.

On the other hand, the Spear will block only magical attacks,
which means the S/S will just have to lay him flat without any imbue (100% physical damage).

I guess you where calculating that stuff with some high lvl Botard who can lvl but can't play.

In my opinion it will end in a massive pot war till someone makes a mistake or recieves an effect after all that defensive arms race

And as for the effects:
Spear: Dull, Stun, Knockback
Sword: Division, Impotent, Stun, Dull, Knockdown, Fear, Bleed,( with less probabilty though)

dont forget that spear also has bloody snake storm to boost you mag def by 1100 for 15 seconds also

Well I was asuming it was 30 secs as Lightning chains status effects last for 30 seconds :P
