No one feels guilty about botting anymore because its near socially acceptable.

That's true, Legits disliked botters, but they lived in harmony here, yes people ranted about bots alot, but i don't beleive anyone hated them as such.

Now the forum has a crackdown, some of the botters here hand themselves in, and people see its people they like / look up to, which is why they call unban.


And fudge is right, only a handful of known people handed themselves in, there are quite a few (its suprising) how many botters who still are among this forum, and unlike the others, they're staying out of the arguments to keep themselves from being banned.

Ah, but stance against what exactly. Botters ruin the game, that much is true. But players that dont play anymore, how are their presence, regardless of style of play in the past, impact the forum in any way?

But whats done, has been done. Regardless of playstyle, quiting the game is no different to getting the charachter banned. The charachter cease to exist, one player ceased to influence. All that is left is a virtual footmark in the servers history, getting trampled by the millions succeeding it. Yet, their presence is befelt by the forums.

And that's the part I wish more people would understand. Botting shouldn't be seen as socially acceptable. As far as I'm concerned, you cheat, you pay. Play right, play fair, and you're good to go.

Legits want botters to be banned IN GAME. SRF traffic is wonderfull, i can connect without any tickets, everyday, and still, we have botters here, they did nothing wrong for me.

there is definitely NOT enough evidence in this thread to ban Sylhana from SRF for botting. there IS plenty of evidence for SUPPORT, for which a temp ban may be appropriate. we will discuss the penalty to be applied and post the result here.

Botting, yes its wrong and all but get over it...almost all the lvl 80s have botted thier way there. The only lvl 80s that havent botted thier way there are the ones that have been playing since the begining of the game. And Euros being lvl 80 on the new servers like Neptune etc... have botted their way there. Lvl 1 to 80 in 4 months? So what if you banned Luoma? that's no problem, but you're afraid that it's not only Luoma. Imagine if 75 % of the mod gets banned for botting, it will certainly not do any good to the confidence that people have in the staff.

The exposed botters section was a terrible mistake.
The way I see it, there are pretty much two different types of people on these forums. I'll compare them to the US political system.

The people who want all botters to be banned are the Republicans. They are conservative and think things should be done in a very specific way. They are anti-choice and say "It's my way or the highway". THEY don't have to bot, let other people make their own decitions, says I.

The people who don't want all botters to be banned are the Democrats. They are more liberal and believe people have a right to do what they want. They are pro-choice and say "I'll do things my way and you do things your way, but let's all get along, huh?". They don't have to bot, but they can if they want, and they let other people make the same decition.

Anyways, replying to NB but really CBA to quote uhmm your right lol .. the people who got banned so far never REALLY contributed too GD. So far we had like 20-30 random 1 post accounts who are laughing about themselves back over at oh ex. The rest hmm Luo never really came to GD, ito same coat. Ok ok there's Nyaghis but meh. That's only 1 person I can think of that contributed to the GD.
