Great to hear SG.

Really nice to see action being taken to quell all bot supporters and botters themselves. Hopefully this will turn SRF in the right direction.

I see Nyahgis is already gone.

Right thing to do wrong group to do it unfortunatly. Not that it should not be done by this group. It is long over due. But it is at this point just a token of our unrivaled frustration at a company that just does not care. Keep fighting the good fight though.

I would have never gotten as far as I had in this game if I made a list of all the closet botters. Frankly I deluded myself to 80. Then when I got there and found out I could no longer hide from the fact the game was a turd. A shiny turd but a turd none the less. The fact that I was often the exception and not the rule being about the only player out there mindlessly grinding by hand. So unfortunatly I have no one to expose but I guess it will still be fun to watch.

I'm curious, will we see any 'massive' bot ban announcements in the forums? It'd be interesting to know who got banned. I guess we could just see it in their sig if we happen to come across one of their posts.

The problem is not that XXX is boting, are thousands of gold farmers, who dont care if they are banned, a new char is same good to make some gold and sell it. The problem can only be resolved if there will not exist gold sellers and/or buyers. A "legit" player who bought gold...ok, he never used any illegal program, but he bring 1,2,3 new farmers on the server. Here is where SRF can help for a pleasant gaming. Learn ppl to make honest gold, learn ppl about the badly consequences of gold buyers. Use SRF reputation to kill the cause, not the side-effect .

I suppose theres a lot of misunderstandings on why the rules are, what they are.

Im getting pretty tired of people saying this forum protects bots. Its usually the same people repeatedly. And im pretty tired of people acting like I cover it all up as long as you dont say anything.

My initial policies were as such

1. No drama. Period.

This means, no threads like the threads we have now in "bot exposure forum". It means, dont come here starting a bunch of shit with other people, bringing your drama to the table. It means, I dont want every Farking topic on the forum to be about bots. I'll never get that, because too many bot. So thats impossible.

2. No bot talk

Time and time again, bots have come to various forums to preach their ways, throw it in peoples faces, put down legit players and just talk shit in general. You promot bot, you talk bot, you get banned.

These simple concepts on "how to keep forum community peaceful" are not enough for some people. In comes the acusation and bitching about how these policies protect cheaters.

Its not a policy to protect cheaters. Shut up.

They are policies to

A: Keep drama off the board. Including bots drama, anti bots drama, drama quees, days-of-our-lives screenshots and more

B: Keep people from preeching bot.

Its not enough to satisfy the "im seriously pissed off about bots" crowd.

I hear you Ryoko. It's hard to know just how to handle the whole situation. If you go the old way of basically "ban botters from SRF only if they admit it" then you get accused of protecting botters.

If you go the way things are now, namely we're able to post evidence of SRFers botting and get them banned from SRF (without the accused admitting to it) then it opens the forum flood gates for flame wars between accusers and accused until a mod locks the thread, then the banned remake accounts repeatedly...

At least this way, SRF is living up to it's 'non tolerance of bots' stance by actively banning even closet botters. More work and overhead for the mod team for sure, but better for the forums.

Well we can't really control what happens in-game for the most part, but we can control what happens on SRF.

sure, but for the game nothing change. Stop give money to Joymax. Guys this is the ONLY FREE GAME in the universe crowed 24h/24h 7days/7days and is it not full of players but of ILLEGALS char. Joymax stop the war to bots with the Premium ticket and i have stopped of giving my money to Joymax.

We're not necessarily trying to change the actual game, although in-game changes as a result of SRF's actions would be a nice side effect. This whole SRF war on bots thing is about cleaning our forums, not trying to save the day and make iSRO a better place.

I've said before that it's possible that it will reflect in game. You're giving the legits a glimmer of hope, they see that it's possible to fight back. They can join all their forces and fight back, their morale raised. Personally, if I weren't already in an anti-bot union that controls the server, I would certainly be motivated on my server to make their lives hell, to make one massive, strong union and show them what morale and teamwork can do.

in iSRO the "legits" dont have chances. in each server you find FULL SOSUN CHARS and prices of items / weapons are pathetic. The "legits" NEVER CANT BUY. The 99,9% of THE SUN'S CHARS BUY GOLD, the entire economy of the game is compromised. i have only one question and please some one answer me. Why for login i must buy the "premium ticket" and inside Tibet server run 2000+ illegal chars? Guys, stop talk of war to bots, is NOT the policy of Joymax.

The best solution is a massive ban followed up by a weekly update of an "anti-bot net" like the one they placed a few months ago. It lasted for about a week and a half before the bot programmers figured out a way to get around it. If Joymax does it, as Warcraft and other MMORPGs do, the number of botters in the server (bots and goldbots alike) will immensely decrease if not disappear altogether. But I'm glad to know there are people out there who remain legit despite the availability of such programs and the overwhelming temptation to cheat. Keep it up and more power to SRF.

EDIT:

By the way, for those who keep saying that Joymax LEGALLY supports people using third-party injections (eg. bot programs), give it a rest. I remember accepting the terms of agreements which clearly states that the use of third-party programs in the game is NOT ALLOWED and is punishable by either suspension or ban. They can't just change the details of the contract while we play. It's like changing the ownership of a title document for a house for no reason at all. Either way, Joymax is liable (or at least should be held liable) for the increase of illegal activity in the servers.

OK, I've been playing this darn game for over 4 years now and cant keep a dang million in my account... So if you can tell me how to make "HONEST" gold, I'm all for it.

Say you bot, banned
Promote bot, banned
Provide links to bot programs, banned
Defend Users [of bot programs] (if I read Ryoko's statement correctly), banned

I guess the ones I would be certain of is this:

1.) Some one photoshops a legit and claims they're a botter
- What process will be used to protect the "innocent"?
I mean, I dont want to be banned because I decide to ignore invite or dont notice whispers for someone for an hour or two (and you know it can be done! LOL)

2.) Some claims that a legit user is a botter.
- Again, how will this be handled?

Ugh... I'm sure the list can go on...

Now just trying to list this, I can see very clearly why Ryoko would be upset of being accused of shielding "silent" botters. Unless they clearly jump up and say yes!, I bot using "this bot program"!, then there has to be a doubt and in order to protect the innocent jokester, or whatever, you cant ban the first sign of it without something to back it up.

BLAH BLAH BLAH...I know sorry... just something for me to ponder on.

Either way, I respect and understand why the board is banning bots and farmers, I just wish them the best cause this sounds to me like a mess trying to define what is considered enough information is gathered to make a decision...

well as for the joymax,some of the ppl said that they are putting their concentration on their new game "Darkeden"....and completely forgot about the silkroad....

this is maybe just a glimps but i doubt that it is going to happen...what if joymax put their concentration back on sro and ban all those gold bots,and a bunch of players who bots for ages....+ they ban all those ppl who started to think that botting is "legal" ......

that would mean that they will stay without a clients....

as for some dude said few posts before about terms of usage?

well arent u find it kinda strange that they removed the gameguard client from the game....

so basicly u can use macro for spamming,u can use whatever 3d program u like to acces the game...or what ever...

that is also one of the bunch of dissapointing facts...

i personaly dont like bots.....but somehow i can look throught the fingers to the ppl who use it(leveling 1 char at the time)....what i cant forgive is all those massive gold bots..

they seemed like gone for some while after the euro update...but they came back pretty fast...

and now 70% of each server is consisted out of gold bots..... if you ban those gold bots and leave the ussual ones.....the server capacity will be much better(populated all the time i think-or slightly crowded sometimes) and even in that slightly crowded case u would be able to log in fast enough...if they got rid of the gold bots,everything would be different,u wouldnt even pay attention to those ppl who bot their chars....

..so basicly if the goldbots problem is solved....no one would feel that bad about bots...
if anyone of you thinks that im support botting in this post...well im not... im saying just the simple facts...remove those 2000+ gold boter from the server ,and u have a uncrowded server....3000 is the limit so basicly around 70% of the server is consisted with gold bots,remove them and the problem is solved....

this is freakin' ridiculus to me because now if u have lvl 80 char cool,but if u made a newbie and when u reach certain lvl u cant grind on bunwangs or ujigies anymore....its a darn hard to do so because there are too many gold bots....i wouldnt find anything strange in that that the bots start to pk themself in the lack of monsters there...

my conclusion is ,fek' it im in...
in that war thingy...

It's pretty easy to make gold in this game. Void Rhondo all of your alchemy drops to make elements. Sell the elements, or combine them with tabs and sell the stones that they create. If you get decent equipment drops, sell those too. There are a lot of things you can sell.

Sell in a stall, not to the NPC (unless it's a useless item that no one will want anyway.)

If you have junk equipment you want to NPC, use Destroyer Rhondo on them instead to get tons of elements. Sell those, or make them into stones and sell those.

Once you get a decent amount of gold, maybe buy decent items from the stalls that are cheap and sell them at a higher price, wash, rinse, repeat.

That's true, as i said before, just another way of flaming... and for all who dont know kondo, belive me, he was fighting against boters in Oasis since more than 1 year. BUT, the purpose of this forum was suposed to be diferent.
