Botters are indeed people too, just troubled or greedy people.

The want, the addiction, and false justification:

To be simplistic, botting isn't a need it is a want. The want is created by the addiction which the player has accumulated over time in playing Silkroad Online. Though, what truly formulates the want into actual actions of botting aren't the reasons these botters are sprouting out. It is, in a vicious cycle, the addiction of Silkroad Online with the irresponsibility in their life which leads to botting. The irresponsibility and the greed of want fuses together to create the reasons these players say today to try and justify the cheating. Which reasons are in simplistic example, "I have a life."

The greed and no sportsmanship:

The greed to gain levels isn't always created because the player has problems in their life, it can be simply just greed in its truest forum; the want to gain higher in rank (i.e. levels) without actual effort in gaining by oneself. The greed, laziness, and the effort of wanting to cheat procreates the actual cheating to gain the desire goals. Having no moral in fairness or a sense of legitimacy to stop them, they continue to their road down in cheating.

Without hope and the greed:

"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em." This can be your die-hard-has-been legit. Having losing faith in legitimacy with the multiplication of greed, they head down the road of cheating. Addiction can be added to this section, as the greed can be birthed by addiction.

The justification:

In essence botters bot simply because of greed and addiction. Following greed and addiction can be tailed by minorities of reasons; such as "I'm doing bad in school, getting D's and F's!" These suppose "justifications" are false. There isn't some mythical force that is forcing you to keep playing as you fail school education. It is you, your addiction. It is the greed that submits you to the ideas of botting. In the end, choosing the bot is your intention; and it is cheating. You are a cheater. No reasons will justify your cheating; unless of course it's a life threatening situation where some person is pointing a weapon towards your head and telling you to bot or you will die; which is fairly- no, extremely doubtful.

If something is ruining your life such as a game, I believe it's time to leave the game. Not to jump on board with cheating and ruin the game for people who believe in sportsmanship. Understand your addiction.

Sad enough as it is, it would be true for the majority of people. Look at some of the bots admission posts here. They say they just want to be high level, blah blah blah.

A lot of people need to understand that the game is to be enjoyed for fun. That you can go at your own pace. No one but yourself is forcing you to be Lv80, decked in SoSun with a few billion gold.

Though I disagree with the life statement. I think there's a good chance majority of bots babysit them all the time; at least in all the cases I've dealt with. Some life that must be for them.

nice thread by the way it just explains how SRO is split in two , cheaters and non-cheaters.

The cheater is mostly the people that got smacked around when they were lower level and they couldnt make it to higher lvl's to kick the bullies arse. Instead he went on the dark side and started cheating to try to catch him up.
But botting is like smoking once u start you cant stop it. Many people that I talk to on Venus about making them quit botting just tell me they cant. One even told me that his hand hurts if he plays more then 1hour straight.
Then take a break and come back to play later***

You dont need to leave your character rolling 24/7 specially with Avalon on venus now we started to murder them for fun or to get them killed by doing euro effects on them while their AFK.

I am turkish but I dont like the in-game turks why ?
Because turks are a power greedy nation and 90% of them if not 99.99% of them bot for one reason. They got bullied and they want to bully now. When they reach level 80 they start to pvp and say ..... you mather ..... you sister. They always complain when they lose yet they still bot even tho its not efficient.

Lazy people.

Lazyness is another factor in a botters life. They are mostly babysitting but yet cant play the game. For instance we had this guy yesterday botting near our party at the generals. We gave him status effects and got him killed 3times. Then he finally shows up and comes against us. I went purple on him so did Fly and the others, even nightbloom (cleric) zerked and ran after him because he was running away.
How cowardly is that ? or is it that he doesnt know how to attack a person going purple.
Well WE ended up murdering him...by WE i mean all the party murdered him once because he kept coming and coming and coming.
But he never attacked us when we were in murder status (he aimed for the wizards only) coward
end of story we didnt die. we worked off our murder pts (me by mob death because i dont kill anything lol) but wizards worked it off in a matter of minutes...lame

was a fun night.

Anyways back to subject, bots are lazy, cowardly people. Think of it this way. Its the guy in real life that has to go steal other people to gain more $$$ because its easier then hardwork and earning it.

PEOPLE like PimpC and NuclearSilo that always comes in the threads and supports botting directly or indirectly are also guilty.

I played counterstrike for years but got tired of people using cheats (wall hax, zoom hax, headshot hax) how fun is it to play when u run foward and get shot in the head without even seeing the person around you ?

Its the same bullshit in SRO, we work hard to achieve something, the game is made to play by hand. not with a third party program, but people that bot make our hardwork look like nothing.
Yes it has to stop and its serious. If they cant level themselves well they should play.
Do you play Age of Empire with cheats? if yes, is it fun to win all the time without having a competition ?

EXCUSE ME ? everygame doesnt have cheaters. I played Everquest from Oct25th 1999 until 2005 there was no SUCH thing has botters/cheaters. Even the gold companies showed up in 2003 and couldnt last more then a year because there was very few support for them. No one cared or bought gold.

I played Vanguard for 7months another SOE game again NO CHEATS gold sellers ya there was, but guess what gold sellers there cannot use a a third party program so they were forced to play SOLO or to party get drops and sell it then collect gold from other chinese players and sell it to others.

So dont come here and tell me to take it for granted.

Alright..that point put aside (although nothing is perfect..if a game dont have cheaters..its probably because its not as famous/good as this game lol..so good support compensates for bad gfx..etc)

Though, this does not mean cheaters should be welcomed in open arms or not to be ignored. Cheaters gain unfair advantage, no one likes that when you're playing fair; it ruins the fun. Play a game of cards with a few friends, someone cheats. Tell me, does the fun factor goes up or down?

How about winning? When you cheat, how much does the winning feel? Is it amazing? Compare winning with cheats to winning legitimately.

You have to understand everything has value. Demons are moralized as evil, angels are moralized as good. A video game has value of being good or bad. It has value of you liking it or not.

I dont get the point. In your 1st post you compared botters with real life criminals, in the other you said this has nothing to do with reallife...

And i think it's really ignorant to compare botters with RL criminals! (I don't support botting just for your info). And i spent really many time now since yesterday reading a lot of threads and posts and some where from you that i remember. It seems to me you are in a way addicted to this game that really should warn everybody. And if i use the same compares like you: If someone doesn't do what you want him to do or he is breaking some rules then you take your gun out of closet and shoot him down? Sure you do. People do not really act out of character. They know botting is wrong and that people hate it. They hate it too when they start playing. But they do not have the fiber to harden themselves against the temptation. Botting is a character flaw like lying or petty theft. You can say it is a very small flaw if you like, but cheating is still a flaw.

This is a MMORPG. I doubt anyone is seriously role-playing. An asshole in game is most likely an asshole outside the game, given that similar circumstances occur. If their willing to break the rules in a game because they see it as petty, I'm pretty sure they would probably do the same outside the game if they felt a situation/object was petty in nature.

There are very few people who actually role-play in game.

Notice how I'm avoiding the use of "real life." People don't die when they log onto Silkroad. Your actions in game are a reflection of your "real life" core personality.
