if a bot exposes another bot, who cares? it's one less bot here. and eventually someone will expose the first one. i don't care how it happens. if you're not part of the slution you're part of the problem.

Mainly because a large part of the community, both intelligent and idiotic, that contribute to these forums is botters. You get rid of the bots, you get rid of an individual that could help out with an issue called forth by a "legit." Whether a person bots or not has nothing to do with their competency when it comes to helping out other players.

you make the mistake of thinking that i desire - in any part - the participation in any kind of discussion here by botters. if you bot, i don't want you here, period. say nothing of what you bring to the forum - what you TAKE from the game means i want you gone.

With all the respect SG, this will be just another way to flame. U know and I know that anyone can be in a exposed situation without any illegal program.

Is not a great idea to let decisions in ppls hands who can have subjectives opinions. We all know this, i m sure is no need to typify reasons or ways which will have undesired consequences and defamation situations.

In my opinion, everyone must do his job, in the most professional way that he can, not to stick there nose in other people business, if Joymax wana ban bots, will do it, and in a Profi way... not : " Hi...U here? ... r u boting?....OMG< A BOTTER"

The problem is not that XXX is boting, are thousands of gold farmers, who dont care if they are banned, a new char is same good to make some gold and sell it. The problem can only be resolved if there will not exist gold sellers and/or buyers. A "legit" player who bought gold...ok, he never used any illegal program, but he bring 1,2,3 new farmers on the server. Here is where SRF can help for a pleasant gaming. Learn ppl to make honest gold, learn ppl about the badly consequences of gold buyers. Use SRF reputation to kill the cause, not the side-effect .

Good Luck All ! <33

Best idea ever. Good hunting everyone, keep you're eyes open.

Expose those so-called legits to us,so we can return to the better days many seem to have forgotten.

Now is the time to rise, rise against this mind numbing evil called:

Botters, and Closet botters. They make me sick and many like me.

Taking a unified stand against something like this has never felt so good.

I'm in.

I agree with you plok. Ok lets declare a war against the botters. Very nice... But what about the gold buyers :x . r they also legit? I don't think so. Moreover, most of the players form exp share parties to plvl themselves or buy plvl services from the companies or from the other players :x . r they also legit? I don't think so either. So if we want to play with "real" legit ppl, we should declare war to those two situations. Does everyone who supports the war against the botters, also support the war against the gold buyers and plvl buyers? I don't think so eitherx2 :banghead: . Think about that.

By the way dear admin, someone may not fully support your "solutions" and may think different than u but this doesn't always mean that those ppl r a part of the "problem". There could be also some grey areas instead of only black and white.

There is a clear cut definition of legit. In the past few hours, I have seen SG handing out the ban to anyone who has been proven to bot, deals with 2rd party programs that effect the client or anyone who supports the purchase of gold. This is not your standard bot clean-up, sweep it under the rug incident. This is the real deal. He wants them gone, and they are going. Whether they like it or not.

If you look around the new forum, look into some of the topics in GD, you'll start to see it.

Trying to rid the community of botters and gold-buyers can only be a good thing, in my opinion.
True, it will be open to abuse from people holding a grudge against a legit or just by an over zealous bot-hunter, but the Mods will get to make the decision based on the evidence presented to them.
If you're legit, then you've nothing to worry about, right?
Little enough has been done by JM regarding bots, so I see it as a refreshing change that at least the Forum that we all like to be a part of is taking an aggressive and proactive stance on the matter.
Forum rules are clear on what is deemed an illegal practice, so this is the Mods actively enforcing those rules and allowing the Forums members a chance to assist in the clean-up.
I view it as the responsibility of any legitimate member of the community to do what they can to support this.
I may not be as active in my posting as many here, but count me in.

Sweet, this place will lose about half the people, and then they'll come back under a different nick/name/IP, and just not say anything, and life will go on...

And everyone will think everything's ok. But at least this house will be clean.
If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.

I'm glad to see SRF going this route. It used to be basically "don't ban them from SRF unless they explicitly admit to botting" (ignoring other rules here).

These forums are supposed to not support botting, and having a process in place like this, to actively work to eliminate open and closet botters makes sense. We don't support botting, and if we know there's a botter among us, ban him. Don't shelter him until he admits to it. :-)

I'm in. I may even change my grant name to SRFarmy in-game :D

I was being sarcastic. I know Google, Yahoo, and other search engines have spider bots that crawl through websites to include links in their search engine results.
