Niton, you started this thread as an attempt to disparage Avalon. You figured your summation of the "facts" would persuade people that Avalon was negative, ignorant and egocentric.

Instead, many members of Avalon posted here explaining why you were booted and also, much more importantly, giving you an abundance of excellent advice as to how you might better enjoy your silkroad experience.

Did you read the posts from people not on Venus? The common theme is "oh, we have a guy like this in our union too and he's so annoying."

You ended up proving exactly the opposite of what you wanted. Avalon knows what they are doing, they do it well, and will do everything they can to get members to go along with it. It sounds like they told you in many different ways what was expected of you but you never listened. You were treated fairly and respectfully. You didn't reciprocate.

Try reading this thread again. And then do it again. There is a ton of really good advice here. I know. In not so many words, I've tried to explain it to some of my own guildmates on several occasions. After that, listen to yourself. Listen to the things you are saying and see how silly they sound. For example:

So you asked for powerleveling on one char from 59 to 60 and another char from 19 to 21. You act as if, once you reached 60 and 21, you would never ask to be powerleveled again. We all know that isn't true. Please try and put your yourself in the shoes of your union mates. Each one of them is thinking, "I got shit to do on my own char, a ticket to burn through and if I do this for him now, he'll beg me every goddam time I log on." You know why? Because this is exactly what happens.

You wonder why powerleveling is bad. I'm not even in their union and I've heard Fly, Nightbloom, et al, explain on many occasions the consequences of powerleveling: your char advances beyond your knowledge of it. You no longer know how to play your character correctly. Basically, they've all said: powerleveling isn't evil, but it is bad.

I've been on Venus for a week and I've been offered plvl every single night. I haven't accepted it because right now I'm just goofing around. I probably won't accept it in the future because I actually enjoy the grinding. Be cool. Don't ask. People will like you.

I never asked for plvl....but i got some for free, still i didn`t leach on a horse, i buffed i healed i chated with the pvper so he won`t get bored.

Today DupLo offered to plvl me in the caves...i turned him down, i don`t wanna get plvled and be a noob 123 1234 healer in ptys....

I love avalon >.< i love everyone who can help us lvl faster [not to be mistaken with plvl] , i love spending 10mins to enter in the cave with a horse and i love pie.....

+1mil I used to pLvl a few guildmates whenever I had some free time, thinking it was a nice thing to do (and it twas ^^). However, now it seems whenever I log on I am asked to pLvl them, and they completely ignore the fact that I would like to do stuff on my own char for a chance (am trying to farm atm and have some serious grinding to do =/) pLving has gotten to the point of pure insanity. When you can't even find a grinding spot due to pLvlers, or when you can't even walk through the caves or takla without someone, usually a stranger, asking you for pLvl because you are seemingly a higher level, it just gets old and annoying extremely quickly. I don't even pLvl anymore even on my free time simply because of the greed and laziness of people thinking pLvl was an absolute need, and not a privilege.

i think you may be onto why so many people buy gold.

OT: in my opinion, hand grinding a character gives me way more satisfaction than getting powerleveled. i'm only in the 20's, but when i went from 21 to 22 after a day of grinding, i felt extremely proud of myself. i know i wouldn't have gotten that same satisfaction is someone powerleveled me.

They aren't conceited they are just twice as good as they say they are . My 2 cents at least on power leveling is don't do it on your main character like been said before you need to know character intimately to be successful in pvp/wars/job any noob can grind mobs. Ire my main is capped and farmed I am now doing hunting and enjoying that since I know the str/weaknesses of my character. I have a wiz/bard also which I am plvling hand grinded it to 30 and when I get to the point of having to hand grind it again. Its going to take some time to learn it but since its not my main I'm ok with that. Dam I ramble.

So I recieved this msg from a guy about the future of Venus and Avalon. I guess I haven't been referencing my Notradomus book closely enough to have found this one, but here it is for everyone to see and comment.

Being as how I have been playing silkroad since it began, 2 years in one server where I still have the oldest surviving intact guild, I doubt Avalon is just some flash in the pan.

Avalon is very bigheaded, but they might have cleaned up Venus... Seriously, I doubt it, there are sooo many bots in venus still, but it's still very nice. It's the new Pacific! I doubt Avalon did anything about bots, once someone starts botting, and sticks with it for a while, they're gonna stick with it. Some people start and quit because they don't like it or whatever, but yeah, botters usually stay botters.

ANYWAYS, my whole point here was something ENTIRELY different.

About that whole begging thing, if someone asks me for 10k, I won't give it to them, it's standard, they're annoying, and as soon as you give it to them, they just ask for more.

One time I asked for 1k on another server because I couldn't afford a shield or something, and I was like "1k please" "I'm only asking for 1k, not 10 lol".
Then someone traded me and gave me 100k! It was so awesome! That person's great.

But yeah, whenever someone asks for a specific amount of money, like 3k or whatever, I'll give them more than that, because they clearly actually need it, and aren't just asking for 10k.

I dont think very many people still believed it anymore. We dont much care if individual people like it or not. We want as many people out there to get the message as possible.

Sure, there are bots on Venus. But those bots are weak and fractured. They arent even enough botters left to make a decent war. As for bots going legit.. yes, we have quite a few. People who hav e botted chars on other servers, people who fell in with us at the beginning and decided to stay legit. They would tell you their stories themselves, but they cant here in SRF. lol We encourage bots to remake their chars and go legit and it has happened more than once.

Ah, the problem is, avalon will never know how strong they really are, because they are the only big union on the server, kinda pointless to have everyone go join one union...so whos left then, gold bots?

And nightbloom, there are other ways to get it through to people that botting is bad. I'm 90% sure you haven't changed one persons mind, they're either going to be legit or botters, and nobody can change that. A ego thats through the roof just gives legits a bad name.

But yeah, this topic really has no point to it, its mostly completely random things. Bots, legits, 10k plz, venus, avalon, powerleveling.

I don't even know this guy and I think he's a total joke. There have been numerous people who have proved you asked for powerleveling and whined about not getting it. I was not involved and am just trying to figure out the truth by reading both sides. Seems to me you are losing. I've been the low level bitch of the guild since I first joined back in August. You know what? I couldn't care less. My original character on Xian is still sitting at 56, and my Venus character is 35.
Wanna know how damn hard is finding a party my level in our union or even on the whole server? I spent hours this weekend trying to find 1 stable party. Did I throw a fit and ask for powerlevel? Nope. You have to understand that nightbloom is not your babysitter. That was one of the first things drilled into my head when I first joined. And I believe it is one of the most valuable things that she could've ever done for me. She taught me to take care of myself. Avalon runs on strict morals and a strict set of policies that has kept it alive for over 2 years. Don't think for one minute some dumbass noob such as yourself will ever tear down the foundations on which this guild was founded on. /end rant.

As you can see from my signature, i just left avalon, for no reason. From what you are goin to hear is the reason and the big negativity which lies beyond them, avalon. sry, noobvalon.

If people would take so much pride/credit of their achievement and constantly portraying it on daily basis makin me staying in avalon will have such a great impact on my communication towars the other. If there is more nicer people i can talk to outside the range of my position (as 100% legit) rather then sitting in a guild while only chatting with few people who really cares about the lowbies (I'm 64 consider lowbie btw), hence my whole virtual social would havent been great, making the game less fun anyway. I laugh sometimes when the authority have to tease the other guild of losing gw/fw but you dont have to treat them constantly as loser as anyway.

Appreciation towards the others is so vital that it is requisite for stronger community. When some few people union that they want to leave venus and went to hera, do you scold them? If fly really does decide to use the force way of getting your community stronger then that is entirely ridiculous

Then why the rush to get cap? No one but yourself is expecting you to get cap level. The time and effort you put in is what you get out of your char. If you get pwrlvled, then great, its a bonus. If not, get there at your own pace.

I had to but in here, since I get this exact same statement from members of my union once in a while. They dont have the time, so they expect players (including myself) to play for them (ie pwrlvl).

3 pages later, even though most of it is spam, there are some very enlightening posts that I hope we could all learn from.

@Niton, honestly, if you post a thread like this, you should expect some responses (in any form). Matters of this nature shouldve stayed on the server.
