I want to be a STR/Cold/Archer What do i do?
I want to be a STR/Cold/Archer, what skills should i get, when should i get it, and when should i sp farm? I'm at lvl 13, with 314 sp, lvl 5 pacheon mastery, lvl 5 force healing mastery, lvl 5 cold mastery, lvl 1 anti devil bow missile, lvl 1 ice river force, and lvl 1 self breathe heal. ??? What should i do from now on, i'm confused.
Ok decent start. Just keep putting everything into Str. As soon as you hit lvl 15 take ice and bow to lvl 7. Raise anti-devil and ice river to 2. Keep grinding. When you hit 16 get THE BEST bow you can afford. SOX if at all possible. If not than +5 or +4 or +3. Stock up on arrows or buy 10,000 arrow quiver from item mall. Run or ride to the bandit den. Join the insanity that is SP farming until you get as much as you can stand.
! small tip. Learn the best way to use imbue and anti-devil together. Single click target mob. You only want to select it not start attacking. press the hot key for anti devil. Once you start drawing the string back THEN hit the imbue hotkey. This will get you at least 1 more imbued shot over imbue 1st anti-devil 2nd.

Well I am going to make the assumption that as a pure strength you WILL also be using fire tree. As a str build you really need the passive and the flame body. For bow I do still prefer ice to fire in PvE. Yes fire does more damage but not enough to counter the extra hits of frostbite or frozen status. But for PvP use fire. With auto pill freeze is gone too quick. The other nice thing about ice as archer is the wall. Cast wall and pick off mobs as they try to get to you.

fire has alot of bonuses that you will want that increase physical damage. Additionally you will want a decent grasswalk form the lightning tree. That means you will need alot more SP. Especially since you are also using the force tree (healing). At higher levels you will want to abandon that. Masteries at level 50 cost ~ 500sp each, at 60 cost 675 sp.
Stop getting self heal its a waste. Don't get cure posion either. If you continue with the force tree use harmony therapy, rez, and heal other.
There are 2 stickied guides in this section about archers, one written by me. Read them for more ideas.
To XuChu I'm level 60 now and love my str archer.
Lastly SP farming is a waste of time at low levels, keep a mastery gap instead.

Uhhh I'm not too resolute about the SP farming thing, but isn't having a gap between ur highest mastery and ur level the same as SP farming?

Alot of people argue, dissagree and insist.
You can trust me, or listen to those who 'boo' at cookie cutter builds.
Don't go ice.
Fire has passive % phsyical damage increase (your str....) and a buff % phsyical increase.
Same level ice won't kill me.
I can just stand there and pot.
I might get annoyed that I'm wasting money on pills.
Doing damage with an ice bow is like cutting down a tree with a wooden paddle.
Call me a liar if you like.
Im a 6x STR/Fire archer.
Now, if you really wanna go ice because you like it, thats fine. I can understand the whole 'doing what you want' thing.

note the at low levels part of the comment.
I agree with Ryoko, I started with ice but deleveled it at 4x due to low damage. However, the important part is that you play how you want to, now how others do it.

You just convinced me to switch to fire.
But i've already added ice imbue to lv 4. How do i activate the curst heart quest?
And yes i just registered =) But i've been looking at the forums for guides for the past few weeks now.
am a lv 20 pure str ice bow. But now switching to fire. Do i still need the arrow combo skills if i'm a fire bow now? which means i have to delevel it to.. =( lots of money gone ..arg
Imbue Lvl4 thats like...<100 Skillpoints. Just leave it alone until you need the mastery points (that wont be before lv70++). Resettings skills is very costy at low lvls, and i would NOT recommend using item mall stuff for 100 sp.
When you finally need those mastery points, you wont have a problem to affort the 1m+ gold that its going to cost.
Btw, im still unsure whether ice or fire is best for archer. Im playing a similar char that you plan (lv55 atm), so you might find this interesting. (Ive force tree with circle/heal/rez maxed, and i mostly heal/rez in guildwar/job pvp)
That said:
Pro fire:
* Faster leveling due to higher damage
* Shield buff
* Mag-Defense buff
Pro ice:
* Imbue usefull as support, to slow fleeing opps a bit
* Phy-Defense buff/passive
In my case, i dont care about 1on1-pvp a lot and the additional damage from fire doesnt help me in pvp (its nice for levelign tho). The status error buff + magic defense buff are nice to have. On the other hand, i prefer to wear garment and ice buffs are a nice complement for garment. (Giving you decent magical+physical defense.) The ice imbue is pretty usefull atm, but i expect it to be much less viable soon. Every fire build will propably use alchemy to get their total ice resistance >100%, and freece/frostbite will be useless against those builds.
