How ironic that by replying to the thread you removed his ability to do so.

Irony is cool.

so basically ice bladers are the slowest to level but are the best tankers around. deal low damg but will almost never die in PvP. Group PvP would be best

Is a 2:1 or 3:1 STR heavy blader good? So you'll be a nice PVP'er but not THAT awful in PVE, or are Blader not that awful in PVP?

What about this build:

3:1 STR Blader (maybe 2:1)
Bicheon 70/Fire 70/Lightning 52/Ice 70

Leaving a few mastery's open. If it will work I will write a guide about it, only thing is that I wan't a bit confirmation on this. Maybe skip Ice?

I don't know wether I place this in the Blade Guide, or the Hybrid guide. I'll place it here, cause it's about blades.

I'm trying a new build, but I need some opinions on it. I will go STR hybrid, I know this not supposed to be as effective as a INT-hybrid, but I wan't to try it. I'm in doubt about the ratio. First I thought about a 3:1 ratio, but it will take a *long* time to get such a difference. Shall I go 2:1.

The skills. Since I won't tank as good as a Pure Str, I'll go with ice for the buff. I'll also go with fire, for the damage. Light for the speed buff (lvl 1) and max pierce. It will look like this:

Bicheon 70
Ice 70
Fire 70
Light 52.

I'll maybe go with a 2:1 ratio to nuke a bit, and won't suck that much in PVE. Will anybody help me?

I'm very sorry, but I am going to bump this thread, even tho it's a sticky. I don't like it, that nobody posts any reply, so that I can't start one. Maybe i'll have to post it in the hybrid guide?

I've heard from a lot of people that 2:1 strength hybrids don't do very well, but I've also heard a couple people say they have a friend with one that's doing fine, only way to tell for sure is to try it out yourself. It would level faster but I'm not sure how it would do at higher levels. And I wouldn't get the nuke, not being pure int or 2:1 int would make the damage on it pretty low.

I think i'll try it anyway. I hear alot of people say that bladers are boring and that they can't kill in PVP, only tank. If it's true, this sound quite boring to me too  I made up a new tactic tonight, supposing the nuke would do quite some damage. Too bad CodeZero just de-confirmed that. I'll tell you anyway.

You start PVPing. First you hit a few times with your chaines, to take a little chunk out of his HP. Then you give him a knockdown, followed by a stab (and you pray it's a crit :D ). While he's still on the ground, you'll start to charge your nuke, and by the time he get's up, you "finish" him. (reminds me of the old mortal kombat-games).

Another thing why I should try it is so that I can add something to the community. Maybe it turns out well, and I can write a good guide on what to do. Maybe it sucks, but too bad, I tried it anyways. Any other comments?

If I go hybrid, the way I mentioned above, what will it be?

a) A blader who can tank quite a bit, but still does average damage
b) A blader who can't tank, nor deal damage

Please answer, nothings lost yet, I didn't put any point in INT yet.

Back to topic:

Cuchulainn, are you planning to de-level Ice later on? Its just, from experience and some reading the ice passive isnt very good (fixed no. not %) and with auto -pot the imbue isnt nearly as useful as fire for bladers.

Moreover, with delevelled force being necessary, and the cap sure to be over 120 with the advised 2 masteries to be taken up.

Well as of right now nobody has the slightest bit of proof that the cap will be raised past 90. And it will happen in ksro MONTHS before it happens here. The last level of ice buff gives 55 defence, that's a nice little bonus. Now think of it like this, don't go with ice imbue use fire, and having that extra 55 defence. And then there's the cold passive, at 6 the max level it adds 42 defence. 92 extra defence is a good edge over another just pure str fire blade, or pure str fire glaive. 92 defence does nothing but help in a pot fight lol.

Thanks, i know that eventually the Ice buff is useful but as for mastery limits it isnt wise.

There is quite alot of evidence that the cap will be raised beyond 90 (kSRO GM's, help files, team interviews etc). I wont consider getting ice to be honest because as you have stated, its only really worth it if you are willing to take it to 60. However, i have contemplated taking Pacheon for the attack rating boost although not very far (maybe to 20 and de-level later).

So, is the attack rating boost at level 20 useful for a str fire blader? Im not sure how much a difference it will make at 20 but i know that higher range of damage for a blader is certainly not be overlooked (fast attack speed/ high damage = pwned :D )

Fly advises against it, but just looking for other opinions.

Nop, talking about the white hawk summon for AR increase in the pacheon tree. Just wondering if its worth getting say level 20 of it and if it makes a considerable difference.

Doesn't work unless you're using a bow. Once you take the bow off then it loses the effect. (Saw somebody else talking about it I think it was Moogie maybe..)

Hmm, really? I was under the impression you could switch to bow, get the buff, and switch back. The buff would stay as long as it usually would and to re-buff you would just have to switch back.
