Korea 07 summer

Post by Jstar1 »

Some pics I took when I was in Korea this past summer. Sorry for the stretched page guys, hope it isn't a too big problem.

Thats outskirts of Seoul, blue sky, pretty rare to see blue sky in the big cities.
Image

Below is a blue sky in Anyang, its maybe 20 min south of Seoul, this is where I stayed at.
Image

Below is a random street in Seoul. Very nice and great places for shopping and eating. Interesting is the number of Japanese businesses operating here.
Image

Now a little history lesson. From 57 BC to 668 AC, Korea was ruled by three kingdoms, Goguryeo, Baekje, Silla. I took some pics of some stuff from these kingdoms.
Image

Below is a bronze crown for a Goguryeo King, during the Three Kingdoms of Korea about 4th or 5th century.

A Baekje sword.

Gaya armor

Gaya horse head armor

Silla gold crown. Pretty sweet since its pure gold and all shiny when I saw it

Heres some Joseon (1392-1910) navy cannons
Image

Silla swords

A government royal seal
Image

Baekje incense burner. This one is a national treasure.

Goguryeo roof tiles

Hope you liked these. I only posted a few of the pictures I took, I took about a 100 pictures in total, but some were bad quality. Korea was fun, pretty cool, just wanted to share some stuff I saw while I was there

I don't understand whats so funny about that

I've never asked a chinese person if they have sofas in their houses. Korea is a small country, or are you not capable of looking up on a map how big Korea is? I don't think Koreans are as stupid as you think, I'm quite positive that we're able to fit sofas into our apartments

I'm not saying Korea is not a small country or the apartments are not big enough to fit sofas but apparently from all my friends and relatives that have traveled to Korea the locals seem to think Chinese people live in huts and brag about how much better Korea is.

They say cockroaches are everywhere. I think Starbucks sees that as a challenge.

Next time, less antiques, more hot chicks. Even girls like hot chicks.
