New to the game, and could use some help

Post by Cryptix »

Hi. I just started playing the game a few days ago, and am having a hard time deciding what to play. Could anyone help me decide what to play?, post the pros and cons of these classes, and how they are in pvp, and for leveling/farming. I would really appreciate it..

Pure Int Melee
Pure STR Bow
Pure STR Blade

Thanks

because it's mostly botters on the Chinese side at the low levels and it makes it difficult to compete with them for kills and items.

Because a well build euro is more powerful, more fun and far more easy to sp farm then the mainstream chinese char.

Personally if I would start over,i'd choose Venus, work hard, help others Get a decent level and try hard to get a spot in one of the guild within Avalon.Within that union u have a nice and big legit community.

You can train a Chinese in Europe too, this is what I did before bunwangs.

I would recomment a new server, since serves likev venus, pacific, oasis.......etc are already CROWDED :banghead:
A new server gives you the chance to login some time :D

As a build choose I would say try a chinese blader or a european warrior, since they won't die alot.

Goodluck with your game experience

Thanks. I'm pretty much set that I'm gonna go with an archer. I read the guides and blader sounds like a class that would be better later in the game, when I have some gear to help speed up the leveling.

And I was reading some guides and some talked about SP farming at 16. Do you HAVE to do it at 16? And how much do I need to do? Because I was thinking of doing it at higher level, because then at least if you get bored, you can take a break and PVP for awhile, where as 16 you wouldn't have much to do, would you?

Level 16 farming is outdated now. You can farm more when you're 42 or 64, or whenever you can use a new weapon. I started farming when I hit 80... umm well, I don't recommend this one. :)

Ok good. Cuz I think it would be slow since I don't have a SOS Bow. So it can all wait till ~42-64?

so I shouldn't even bother at all SP farming at 16? Just wait till around ~42-64?

I'm going STR Bow btw if that makes a difference

I find it very helpful to farm a small amount around 16-20ish. Reason being is because u can still level up, although slower, it motivates you to keep playing. Try a 5 gap between these levels. And it cuts off an amount you have to farm at whatever higher level you're farming at. If anything, its more sp that was easier to get now than, say at 40+, when a 5 gap sucks (unless of course you're farming at 42).

I play a Wiz/bard and my leveling goes like this: 0gap-1gap-2gap-level up skills and go back to 0gap-1gap-2gap-etc. I still need to farm, but with my build this provides a good chunk of my sp, and i can level while having a decent amount of sp and keeping my necessary skills up(until around 64 where i plan to farm). My point here is that your build plays a role when/how much to sp farm. I'd suggest firmly establishing a build, and then get opinions from the rest of the people here who have played that build and see when the best time to sp farm is.

For any build in general however, getting power farmed at the ongs is one of the fastest ways to sp farm, provided you have the money. If you lack assets, then refer back to my previous point. Should you go euro, partying while farming is awesome, and can provide you with the same, if not more, sp than being p-farmed at ongs (at least from my own experience). I tried farming while in a party with my Chinese Blader, and it doesn't seem to work as well->i got more sp grinding in a 4-man distribution party (don't know why atm).

EDIT: lol, ok u got your build-didn't see that =p.

Both are equally fun, take just as much sp, and can be just as strong.

My suggestion, get friendly with the comunity and find a nice high level to pfarm you at ongs.^^
This way you avoid the pain and time at later levels of having to farm yourself.

Somehow 1 or 2 weeks to fully farm sounds better than 2 or 3 months.

oh, and if you have access to 2 pc's, you can famr yourself, just make your first char a wiz and 0 gap to 64, then make a new char thaty ouw anna stick to. A Lv64 wiz 0 that went without farming can compete even with a full farmed 80 chinese nuker.

As your first character I wouldnt worry to much about sp farming/perfect build. You need to learn the games mechanics, what pvp is about, to know which build you like best you might have to make like a few characters to figure it out, and slowly start making your wealth. Then you still must deal with server traffic, if after all that you still want to play is it worth paying real cash to be able to log in?

So then do you think I should hold off on buying a 4 week 100% ticket or get one for my first character as well..?

Well I started talking with some of the higher levels on the server and asked about SP farming, and one of them said the best thing to do is to level to 60 with a 9 gap and then 60-70 with a 5 gap and then 70-80 without one.

What do you guys think of that? About how long do you think that would take? Because I would like to be able to see the game and not spend the whole time leveling and have it end up being like a year till I get somewhere lol.

I'd suggest testing the game, see what builds you like, and which interest youin the long term. Once you do that, avoid the advice they gave you, cuz leveling with a gap will quickly get old. Once you have figured out what kind of character you want, just as a high level friend to pfarm you for a week or two, get the necessary sp for your build, then 0 gap to 80.

2 months [pfarmed and 0 gapping] VS 1 year. [gapping to higher levels]

You choose which interests you most.
