BUT.... asian gamers r kinda hardcore, there was news in Hong Kong about this guy playing diablo 2, apparently someone scammed him out of a grandfather or whatever and he tried to commit suicide by jumping off a balcony.

There are other isolated deaths relate to continuous video gaming also, sadly most related to MMORPG. I remember one incidence in China where a guy stabbed another guy because that dude didn't return a lucky sword that was loaned to him.

OMG ! I just CAN'T understand that. How can you sit in front of the computer and play for so long... It's plain stupidity. Do those people have no private lives? I feel so sorry for them, because they are just unaware of the things outside their "lairs".
That's why I think that children under 13 shouldn't be given their own computers or they will literally become outcasts and freaks. this is generalising of course, but (sadly) true...

well many take games too seriously. a Counter Strike clan lost a match and shot up the team they lost to, if remember the story correctly. People have put their younger sibling/kid in a closet so they wouldn't bother them as they played everquest. and the people who will just go eat and use the bathroom some other time....
a person from WOW that i sort of know did 1-60 in 4 days with no sleep and had to goto hospital because he's eyes were strained so bad..... he was from ... guess..

they said they farmed like 100k sp in a week or so.
not possible. even with bot and gold ticket not possible. i tried with 4 friends once. we farmed exactly 24 hours at lvl 16, lvl 16 +1 sos bow, no gold ticket, no break. we farmed about 2,5k sp (and hell we know how and where to farm). you get 1 sp (not sp point, it's real sp) for about 3 mobs.
China does have rehab clinics. Also their government has banned excessive gaming several months ago. What happened was that the government makes you take a 1 hour break every 3 hours of intense gaming to prevent gaming addiction which is the number 1 cause of unemployment in China. Thankfully this is going under way.
Following closely behind Korea is crazy as well. Only about 10% of Koreans are crazy freaks but others are actually social and have personal lives and still play games. I've been to Korea and they are a real nice group of people.
Japan is actually losing gamers and the United States can surpass the amount of gamers in Japan if the trend continues.
I quit. I'm too busy.
