About Fire Shield Phoenix skill

Hello everyone, I'm new here.
I got the skill called "fire shield phoenix" under Fire (of course). But I'm not able to use it for some reason unknown to me. It says "the equipment you wear" does not allow me to use it. I tried taking off everything I wore and I still couldn't use it. Anyone know why I can't use it? I'm only at level 12 and I'm going for hybrid.

By the way, I'm a real MMORPG noobie. I was reading the threads here and I wonder what does "imbue" mean in terms of MMORPGs? :oops:

You have to equip a shield for that skill.

and imbue for this game is the first skill in ice, fire, and light.

erm...I'm a nuub too .. the skills says "decrease the power of abnormal state by infusing the force into the shield". What does that means actually? I don't understand what it means. I would really appreciate it if somebody can tell me... Thx :cry:

I believe it reduces the length of a status effect applied to you. Meaning your burn, frostbite, shock, darkness (maybe), won't last as long if you let it just tick away.

It reduces status effect level. Both length and "power" of the effects are affected.
Combined with some effect reduce jewelry, it can make you immune to a specific effect.
