Not, Brokeback mountain. It's sad to see him go, i mean. He was a good actor, not one that id go to a move JUST to see, but still it was good. Also, i wonder how this effects the new BatMan? He was playing the Joker.. O.o

read somewhere..that he didn't get much sleep from loads of work and that he was sick...so he took pills but that they weren't working too well...

exactly. it could have been an accident. the police claim that pills were NOT strewn all over the place. So, he wasn't in a typical suicidal freakout. Maybe he really wanted to sleep and figured a few more wouldn't hurt.

I was really looking forward to him as the Joker, but personally, the only film I truly liked with him in it was Brokeback Mountain. I think the film was fantastic, and I think he did a MUCH better job acting than Jake Gyllenhall or whatever his name is.

They already finished filming The Dark Knight, so you'll see him in the movie.

As for the cause of his death...Heath took his role as the Joker INCREDIBLY seriously. He locked himself in his hotel room, depriving himself of sleep on purpose so he gave himself that "crazy" look and watching A Clockwork Orange (a really messed up movie) over and over again to develop that "psycho" laugh and learning to be more like the true Joker. After some time into playing the Joker in the movie, I guess he got into a bit too much, because he had insomnia and the Joker character was disturbing him. I've had serious cases of insomnia before, and when you snap, it's very close to a psychotic breakdown. He couldn't sleep, and he was prescribed these strong pills...I don't really know 1005 the exact cause of his death, but it could have been overdose on the pills because one of my friends in 9th grade died during a graduation trip from overdosing on some sleeping pills too. But he seemed really troubled by the fact the Joker part got to his head...but who knows. I don't believe it was purposely intentional suicide on his concious part, he was just having trouble adjusting away from his crazy role.

Yes, sadly this was the case. Very few actors pour so much of themself into the role. Heath Ledger was one of these actors. Similar to Jim Carrey while filming Man on the Moon, Ledger also suffered from insomnia and a mild case of schizophrenia. The sleeping pills were prescribed to alleviate the insomnia, and were not found on or around his body, but around his apartment in typical places to find medicine (i.e. nightstand, bathroom). Therefore, police have ruled out suicide. Today, his autopsy was ruled inconclusive and will require further tests.

Here is Heath Ledger's last interview. Notice his movements and how he is constantly rubbing/scratching himself. Usually this is a symptom of an addict going through rehab and withdrawal, so it seems like he was trying to get over the Joker thing since he was so into it..

I don't want to compare him to anyone, but I guess he's sort of like a less-famous James Dean. I saw him at the mall once, and he's really good looking. He was with his daughter and he was talking with her and seemed really happy. I waved at him, and he said hello back and smiled. He has a really nice smile. And no, I'm not gay or anything, he's just really cool

If you did not grow up in the 1940s/50s, you probably won't really know (or care, for that matter) who James Dean was. He was a pretty good looking actor who died in his mid 20s, almost like Heath. But he was very, very famous back then, anyway. He's like a legend in acting history now. He's in the top 50 list of America's greatest film stars in cinema named by the American Film Institute.
