"WHAT IS THAT"
"It's terrible thats what it is"
10 minutes later
"OMG WHAT IS THAT?"
"That...is also...terrible"

that was the best part in the whole damn movie for me 2

only a few stupid things they did in the entire movie typical to horror movies.
1st not getting in a car when they were wandering around above ground.
2nd at the end with what happens to the camera man.

could sorta guess what was gonna happen most of the time, but was a very good movie and i loved the whole cam corder idea. honestly the best movie ive seen in a very, very long time.

Anyone came to an idea about bringing a digital camera in the theater, recording the movie and putting it on the net by any chance? xD

As epic and intense as the movie is you'll want to see it in theater.

I really didn't like the cam corder view that it was shot in.

The scene in the apartment towards the end when the camera is set on the ground was the best part.

I couldn't take all the shaky scenes...gave me headaches.

The plot was good though.
Ending was bleh.

It was a fine movie. I'll be looking forward to a sequel, for the ending of this movie left me with a lot of questions. Like, why did they scream: "Shes bitten! Shes bitten!" And kill that chick? What was happening to her? What are those things that keep falling off it's back? WtF dropped from the sky @ the last scene? Etc...etc.

I had no idea of WtF was going on in the movie; I knew just as much as the characters in the story did, and I loved it. Every time that thing screamed the whole theater shook, I(at least) and the characters in the story knew something was going down every time we heard it. I'll definitely go see this again.

I think that was the idea of the ending. Whats the point of a movie if you know everyone lives happily ever after, somethings are best left to the imagination.

I saw it at the midnight show. I dunno how i feel about it. The monster itself was interesting looking, reminded me of a mix between the Corpser from the game Gears of War and somewhat of a Zerg from Stracraft. The view was annoying at many parts, but i guess gave it a scarier feel. I wouldnt have liked it as much on a Tv compared to the theater. I didnt have high expectations for the movie though, so wasnt amazed but wasnt disappointed.

No it was kind of humanoid-y But huge and 4 arms + legs and walked on both the arms and legs. Looked pretty disappointing and uninteresting in some scenes but the birds eye view was awesome, imo.

they didnt kill the one who was bitten, it seems like she basically exploded. The people who took her were wearing full plastic suit things and took her behind a plastic sheet so they didnt get blood and guts all over themselves and everyone else.

The thing at the end falling into the sea is supposedly the monster, thats how it got here. since that scene was shot a month or so before the actual event and the actual event was recorded over the top of that. The monster probably just lived in the sea for a month until it got bigger.

The things that fall of its back are like parasites. only because he is so big, they are big aswell.

Re: Cloverfield

Post by satman83 »

well theres no such officail back story....some say that its Cthulhu other say and alien...no one really knows what it is.

I presonally think its Cthulhu, as he/it/she was imprissioned under the sea. the story goes that the old ones (Cthulhu, Ammutseba, Zvilpogghua, Rlim Shaikorth and all the others (79 in total) were and are ancient extraterrestrial beings of immense power, and most are also colossal in size. These entities seem to have a physical shape, but being cosmic lifeforms from beyond our space-time continuum means they are not based on matter in our definition of the concept, yet their forms are built on principles similar enough to those of true matter that they appear to be material in their nature. They are worshipped by deranged human cults, as well as by most of the non-human races of the mythos. The Great Old Ones are currently imprisoned—a few beneath the sea, some inside the Earth, and still others in distant planetary systems and beyond. The reason for their captivity is not known, though there are two prevailing theories:

1. They were sequestered by the Elder Gods for using black magic transgressions, or
2. they are sealed off somehow from the rest of the universe of their own volition.

According to the first theory, the Great Old Ones were once related to the Elder Gods. When they committed some unknown blasphemy, they were cast out and imprisoned in various places in the universe. The Great Old Ones impatiently await the time of their release, eager to seek retribution against their jailers.

The second theory holds that the Great Old Ones are intentionally dormant. To account for this, it is possible that the universe experiences cosmic cycles, similar to the natural seasons which occur on earth. Just as some animals hibernate during the winter, so too must the Great Old Ones rest in a death-like sleep during the present cosmic cycle. If this is so, the Great Old Ones are currently trapped by powerful cosmic forces and must remain so until such time as the planets are in a certain alignment... or "the stars are right"—the event upon which they may be released and can revel once more across the cosmos
