[Request-Guide] pk2 editing with injection...

I read in some threads that people used injections on the Silkroad process instead of editing the media.pk2 file. Is there already some guide (or will it come) which would explain what to do? Do you inject *.dll file? If so, how do you compile a specific *.dll file?

I know, a lot of questions, but I'd like to get more knowledge on this... ^^

It has nothing to do with DLL injection. The term is carried over from the Halo PC modding community. You used to do it by hand, but now you can just use Drew_Benton's "PK2 Tools", which call GFXFileManager.dll to do the dirty work.

Thanks, that should help me a lot then, though isn't this nearly the same as the ordinary pk2 editing? This just makes it somehow easier... ^^

Nope, other people couldn't see what you've edited in your pk2 client since it's on client side only (on your side only).

About the ban thingy, yeah you could get banned, it was warned by JM that editing their files could get you banned. But, we don't know how much % that we're gonna get banned since well you know, JM is lazy to check it out. Rofl.

But, use/edit it at your own risks, people who gave you guides on editing it shouldn't be held responsible for it.
