hybrid str blader good?

A pure str blader is a tanking build. High hp, better defense (shield), and you have the ability to block. The downside is the amount of damage pure str bladers do. They have a high frequency of hits (in the form of combos, kd and stab, blade force series) but the lowest average damage dealing per hit of all the chinese builds. Bladers will have difficulty killing other charachters, but in a team their role is invaluable. Being able to pin down a particularly troubling char that no one else in your team could tank, kill euros, tank uniques etc, bladers have their role as tankers while doing auxillary damage for the team.

So why go str hybrid? Depending on how you distribute your stat points, str hybrids are able to deal slightly more damage per hit compared to a pure str blader. Crits aside (natural crit value on blades are low, so you shouldnt depend on them) higher damage per hit translate to higher damage output. Whether a hybrid blader could kill more is hard to say, cause there arent many players with this build. In theory, what you are trying to do is increase damage output, at the cost of lowered hp, and lowered phy defense, but slightly higher mag defense (as stats are used as part of the defense calculation) how much depends on what you wear. I do not think it is a bad idea, I just do not believe it will impact the build significantly enough to change its role from a tanker to a killer. You would probably still be a tanker that deals more damage than other bladers, with slightly shortened mortality time on the battle field.

Basically, to sum it all up for ya,


Hybrid Bladers - go for 6:1-7:1 Blader build. This build (it's what i have too) has overall more MP but a little less HP since you're not pure STR. The advantage is MORE DAMAGE (you can actually kill something now)


Pure STR Bladers - a staple, the usual, the common -- Add all your stat points to STR, and strive for 20k + hp and basically you're a Godly tanker(because you have shield as well), but your DMG is LOW

Normally at lvl 50, a pure str blader would have about 5,700HP while a hybrid 6:1 would have 5,300 HP , yet the 6:1 has more MP.

i remeber before when the new moves didnt come out like lighting chain people hated hybrid str blader becasue they were horrible and told me to change my build only like 3 people said keep your hybrid str. ive put 21 points into int and im lvl 40 what should i contuine to do?

Well, here's the base stats (no blues) for the 2 builds

Hybrid:

There's not a big difference in hp (1,578 difference naked)
while with the mp it's the same (1,577 difference naked)

now have full str/hp and int/mp on gears

Hybrid:
18,550 hp w/ 102% Phy. balance
10,377 mp w/ 55% Mag. balance

Pure Str:
20,128 hp w/ 109% or 110% Phy. balance
8,799 mp w/ 45% Mag. balance

Hybrid seems good to me, a bit.....though I must admit I'm a sucka for the pure builds <.<'

now seriously hybrid suk imo ive foguht 6:1 hybrid and 7:1 bladers and ive killed them all just go pure str im lvl 64 pure str blade and i can kill anyone lvl 65 and under

I have never seen a good hybrid. Everyone I have fought I have killed. I suggest pure str.

Light hybrid bladers were just fine before the new skills. Heavy hybrid is now a possibility.

Lightning chain has no effect on whether hybrids are good. In fact am I the first to mention what skill makes str hybrids a valid build? Hint* its in the ice tree.
If you optimize that skill for the amount of mp you have then for 2min you will be better then a pure STR.

How much int is up to you, the more int you add the higher you need to have your ice mastery. Something to think about once the cap raises.
