does anyone know what are the chances of failing low level items(+1-+3) and chances of breaking the item in the process?

coz i like to enhance my sos glaive lvl 24(+1 str) and was thinking that if chances of failing/breaking is high then might as well dont enhance it.
does it remove the bonus if it fails also?

noob question: is there a place where i can buy a higher lvl of powder since sos glaive lvl 24 is 4th degree and jangan has only 3rd degree?

ty in advance and sorry for the trouble caused by my noob questions

i know +1 has about a 98% chance of success
+2 I'd say about 33%
+3% half it, so on and so fourth

kinda frustrating, how the hell can someone ever make a +9 eh? it just wont happen >.>

for your SoS glaive, i'd definately give it a +1, almost guaranteed to succeed, if you have the bank to roll back on, i'd say give it a try for +3

I keep saying, I heard on silkroad-oasis forums that steady has not been implemented yet. I don't know since the recent patch. In any case, steady has nothing to do with whether you succeed on the upgrade. Steady only helps keep your weapon from losing past upgrades IF you fail an upgrade.

I wasted 9 weapon elixirs on my level 32 crit 12 spear trying to get a nice shiny +3. No more weapon alchemy for me, no sir. From now on I sell my weapon elixirs and buy the weapons premade.

i just wanted to point out its a proven fact that the blue options DO NOT HELP whatsoever in adding + to an item, i used 12 protector elixirs and havent made it past +2 but howevr my durability didint go down or the item didnt "break" or whatevr the crap that means, but what was weird i started using elixirs with out lucky powder and my item is a +4 , i dunno worked for me , the game needs to fix this whole system cause its really choppy , i know mu had a nice system of doing it , maybe silk road can help us out here...........

Alchemy system??

Post by grindel »

If you ask me it sounds badly broken. First there should be a skill for this. In Blade Mistress there were players that did nothing but skill at combining. Some players made Weapons and other made bombs and other assorted types of equipment. First there should be a skill for alchemy (that is if there is not). The odds for success or failure should be clearly calculable. I was a sword smith in Blade Mistress and I could calculate the skill required to do a build just by knowing the materials use. This could be an economic force having players that provide services like upgrading items. Each time you attempt an upgrade should increase your chances up success because you are building on previous experience. This is the way it works in the real world is it not??

Do weapons always go +1 -> +2 -> +3
or can you jump from +1 -> +3 or nothing -> +3?

It always goes in order. Except when you fail and go straight back to zero.

Sorry another question.
I know you can lose all previous enchantments.

Can you lose the item due to a failed alchemy attempt?

My sos bow has both immortality (immortal 3times/time) and steady (steady 2 times/time) and it was +2. After the upgrade it now becomes +0 and none of those two atttributes decrease.
I ever thought that the bow would have somehow kept its last upgrade if the enhancement failed. Anybody know if immortality/steady have actually been working yet?

So I just got my spear to +3, and I must say I'm dissapointed. I was expecting that big purple cloud looking thing that I see on other people's weapons to be on mine, but it was just some lame shining barely noticeable if you aren't paying close attention.
At what level do you get different shines?

+3-4 is a greenish shine
+5-6 is a purplish shine
+7-8 is a silver and gold shine
+9, who knows? Never seen one.
Seals have the big purple glow with the trail

brings backs alchemy memories from priston tale (Mu-online was its sister game).

There was a game clock for pt and I never failed +4 / +5 whenever i did it at midnight lol...

Too bad I only tried it after failing countless +4's and +5's,

Anyway a +4 costs about 1.5mil and +5 7mil. Money in pt doesnt come easy either, you only earn money off selling to other players, npcing items is almost unheard of.

+1 to +3 was 100%. +4 was 60% +3 was 30% success rate.

Loved the system =/. You find lil trinkets/stones e.g transparo's/murkies/fadeos and use a fixed combination according to diff levels of plussing.

Anyway, anyone have any idea when SRO will implement the other alchemy options?

Is it a Myth?

i also wondering the same question as you,

i've try once i'm wearing a lucky 5 shoulder...
and i get SOS level 21 Armor...

when i start to believe in luck, i change all sets to lucky set...
which is total of 21 luck...

what happen? nothing different like usual...

so... you believe in luck? luck is always luck...
if you believe, it does happen, if you not, there's no losing...

hahahaa...
