I totally agree.
To me, it would end a lot of the argument over post count and its evils. In my humble opinion, a reputation system would be pretty beneficial to the Forum.

of course some sort of system would have to be put in place
such as posters can only rep X amount of times a day
and people with more rep can benefit your rep more than people with little or 0 rep

and i also believe the post count system is totally flawed
some people think they should be respected because they have 230842308408 posts of spam

I agree with the reputation thing. I don't know if PHPBB has a reputation system, I really like that level system mentioned in the previous post. Reputation systems are cool. We have had it at thehelper.net for years and it is good stuff.

We were to get it but.. um.. a certain.. "someone"... forgot.

I think I posted this before.

The writer of the reputation system quit long back.

It is no longer supported, updated or bug fixed.

It was not even current with our old version of PHPBB, so it was never installed.

Should a reputation system be developed for PHPBB3 we would certainly look into it.

Most the things I have found are a "money system" where you can buy custom user titles, custom colors on your profiles, and so forth. They are also... phpbb2 =)

Yes. PHPBB 3.0 is early. New version of VBulletin is coming out that Ace is moving TH.net to (3.7). Big changes in that version as well. Hopefully when a good rep system comes you will implement it. It would work well here, imho.

we should totally switch to vbulletin when the new version comes out. iam a long time user of vbulletin forums and their highly satisfactory. + they have a rep system ^^

haven't been made yet for phpbb3, I've been looking for it for ages. One of my friends is making one I think.
