Re: 100 Greatest Quotes from fundamentalist christian chat rooms
This is some epic shit. Oh crap, going to hell because I said that.
Anyway, there will always be extremes on both sides. Although, I find this stuff to be incredibly funny.
Thanks Nuklear.
Edit:[about a girl being born with mental disabilities]
This girl is like a leper so what she needs to do is try and find god
if she really believes she can be healed from this state, she will be healed from this state
Most afflictions like this are caused by sins committed while still inside the womb. If she can repent for what she does god will embrace her and make her as human as you or me but if she chooses not to she'll always be like this
god tests every one of us [emphasis added]
ROFL!!

Yes. Quite a bit of my family and I included (though we aren't necessarily Christian). There are some things that I can't believe came to be without force(s) of some sort. I hope this thread wasn't meant to insult Christians: I know as many good Christians as atheists and vice-versa. But all radical religions can get absolutely ridiculous, and I guess since Christianity is the dominant religion in the world (particularly America and Europe), radical Christian forums are what's seen most. Keep in mind though, this radical (and crazy) forum could just as easily be an atheist forum. Being Christian doesn't make someone say all this. Guys discriminating against Christians here, grow up.

Thanks AAzumak for the awesome sig!!!

I don't want to sound mean or anything but people here have men making fun of the radical muslim bombings whenever the chance arises...i think radical muslims are what is seen most in the media and online, at least people know that not all christians are like the ones on these forums but alot of people really do think that all muslims are terrorist or have some relation to terrorism.....its nice to see a change in things if only briefly...

radical muslims are just like christian radicals. They justify their beliefs and actions from warped ideologies (example: whites are evil). islam is a peaceful religion not what many people may think.

good to see some good discussions rather than the usual flaming
regardless of any religion, I think there are always bad examples of any religion. There are indeed good followers and bad followers, however when others see a namely religious group act a certain way (it can be just a few individuals), they immediately pin down a stereotype in their heads, thinking, ok these people do these sort of stuff, this happens a lot I found, regardless of religion. Many of us label religions withoout actually studying them and understanding what's the true message that's being broadcasted.
Even taking Christians as an examples The Crusades were basically using God's name to commit acts that's not really ethical (me thinks).
and for some reason i can't find my previous post XD good thing you guys quoted it lol

Re: 100 Greatest Quotes from fundamentalist christian chat rooms
I should look into some stats of religion. I personally believe religion is on the decline, and more people are becoming atheists, but I should really find something to support that. If so, then sometimes in the future we would have an atheistic society, and here is why I think that.
Logically people have believed in deities from ancient times. First it was natural occurrences, storms, fires, rain, etc. Then it became actual beings that control these forces. Now it's mostly beings that created the forces in the first place. So in the future, would it be beings that created the beings? Would that even make sense? People also want to believe in something more powerful, but at the same time they want to be able to be in control of their life, and in order to do that they would need to believe in god less and less. Also with the development of science we pretty much explained everything we encounter, so when we somehow prove the big bang theory, and figure out what caused it in the first place, we would either conclude god is simply a very ancient race of people, or a natural phenomenon based on a random series of events.
Either way, since we would understand how god supposedly created everything, we would no longer think of that being (if it is a being) to be omnipotent, but rather highly intelligent.
I am sure a lot of atheists would agree that beings more intelligent than ourselves exist, so neither religious people nor atheists would have a problem with the final outcome.
So in the end, faith won't mean anything other than believing in a fact, which was already accepted by the atheists.
/theory

the youth love atheism....the ones who want to be different, detach themselves from the norm, rebel against there parents etc.....for most of them its just a phase that they grow out of and then they realize they really need God all along and so on. There are very few people who remain atheist there whole life because there are few people that actually take the time to try and understand what god is or could be b4 dismissing his existence....those that just jump on the atheist bandwagon often get hit with another bandwagon like The Mid-Life Crisis bandwagon or the Im an Alcoholic Bandwagon and get pulled back into religion when they seek out guidance and purpose...people like that get together and mate and have dumb kids and the cycle begins again...

Re: 100 Greatest Quotes from fundamentalist christian chat rooms
Yeah....I wonder why people that get screwed in life often start believing in god. "Yeah, god made it happen so it couldn't be my fault." That's just trying not to blame yourself and throw it on to someone else. I would ask myself why god didn't help me at those times instead of taking comfort into the belief that everything was predestined. And if it was, would you stop trying in life because it wouldn't matter?
I also want to mention Scientology. Who thought up that name? That 'religion' is so farked up, you would wonder how they could call it science...It's pretty much a cult that started recently and a bunch of famous people wanted to be cool and joined it. Look it up, it's hilarious.

Someone's religious...
No reason getting hot-headed man. Especially with respect to putting words in people's mouths.
Instead of defending your beliefs you just attacked someone. I'm pretty sure that kind of sentiment is looked down upon in every religion.
Everyone, remember, this is a humor thread. Let's keep it that way.

if you havent noticed this whole thread has been about attacking my religion and my beliefs so id appreciate it if you didnt try to portray me as the bad guy. you keep talking about how intollerant the christians are when you yourself have been putting them down the entire thread.

I really don't like words being put in my mouth. I expect you to backup your claim about what I might have said.
Also, this is about making fun of crazy fundamental christians, not christians in general. Maybe you should read the thread title and actually visit the site before you make absurd claims.
If you don't have anything positive to add to this thread I suggest you leave.

Re: 100 Greatest Quotes from fundamentalist christian chat rooms
just want to address something fair in the situation above:
Well I think topic starter should put a disclaimer this is a humor thread on first post.
I was personally offended when I first read the post. It would be really helpful to others (if you intended it to stay as a humor thread) if you can just say that this is for making fun of " quote quote" instead of a religious debate thread. And state that your intensions are not to look down on their religion. I think if you do that less amount of people will be offended adn hopefully lower the amount of flames.

Re: 100 Greatest Quotes from fundamentalist christian chat rooms
No one was attacking christians, dude, if we were attacking anyone it would be stupid people that use religion to justify their hatred and homophobia. If anything, we defended christians by saying how these people are fanatics and don't know what they are talking about. Just because they happen to be christian doesn't mean we all hate christians because we laugh at their stupidity.

mama, I could care less how many people are offended by this humor. Just like most things in humor not all things are funny to all people. If someone isn't intelligent enough to click on the link and see it as humor, even if it's not their taste, that's not my problem.
Oh, and on your point if people are offended they will flame. It's nonsense. Any respectful human or member of this board would simply go to the next thread or post their feelings rationally, not flame-like as seen above.
Now, back to quoting the crazies!

To say the Bible was written by men and may contain inaccuracies completely contradicts the word of the Bible.

lol It's nice to know you did a study on atheists.
Anyway nobody knows, and probably nobody ever will know what the truth is. No decision is a bad one as far as religion is concerned.

1. Only the ignorant people are putting down christianity.
2. If you think someone is wrong don't fight their ignorance with more ignorance.
3. My statement was bashing false athiest not christians. Read it more carefully.
4. This thread isn't about bashing christians its about christians self-owning themselves, if you want to be mad at someone be mad that the christians in that link who make the rest of you look bad.
5. If people are mocking christians in this its probably due to one or 2 or 30 of homophobic, anti-semitic, chauvinistic, or just plan crazy statements they've just read courtesy of your own fellows....
