Speechless
so i recently found out that my dad has been a cocaine addict for 4 without anyone in my family knowing. i don't remember anything from the day i found out, it feels like a dream. i don't even know what to say, i was the last to find out, but I'm somewhat thankful for that because i have some mental issues i don't want to go into. the worst part is that i's been 4 years without anyone finding out. from what i know he only realized that he needed help was on new years eve. we had one of those intervention things (the day i found out too) and he says he's going to get help, and from what we know he wants to and he will starting tomorrow.
anyone else have any kind of things happen to you?

With motivation and help from his family he can only stop

Re: Speechless
Well I can't say I've had something exactly like this happen to me directly. When I was younger, around 3rd grade I guess, one of my friends' older brothers got into a serious car wreck because he was on acid and something else I think.. crashed cause he thought he saw a yeti.. turns out it was a deer. Close enough though I guess. That situation completely turned things around for the better in their family because he finally came out about the issue. It might be a little hard for a while, but if your dad gets the help, support, and love he needs then it's very likely that it will be an easier recovery than most situations. Just be glad he can admit he has a problem.. <_< it could be MUCH worse.
Good luck

Re: Speechless
that explains it when you ask your parents to go out for dinner, and your dad says that you dont have the money.
