My New Site

Hey guys I was looking to put up my own site/board. I will be making more then just a board for the site. Anyways all are welcome there, this is gonna be a very large scale site, I am looking to do more then just Silkroad, I will add any game you ask, general life chats, non-pc chats, such as xbox360 live and so on. I will be making a tattoo section and getting some of the local artists involved and so on, so feel free to join, any admin help would be appreciated and just plain company in itself.

Thats why I am planning on trying to cover everything and anything someone asks for, the more there is to read and chat about the better chance it will have to stay active and interesting.

That makes it worst. You need orientation, you need users who have something in common to discuss, and most importantly you need to have a certain sense of professionalism or users won't take you seriously.

The last point being important, i'll touch on that: you need a domain (invision free = joke, most people won't even click on the link; and redirects: .cjb.net .tk etc. are something to laugh at - if you can't put up $8,88 a year, why would I take your board seriously?), you need a skin (otherwise it looks amateur), you need to get rid of all the 1337 text: eg, ']['hurisaz... -={ x }=-, and you need to organize everything better than it is now. It's like simcity, you don't build residential zones until you have people to fill them up - you have way too many boards and are way too broad for having a member base of 4.

Well, as far as needing a new board (not invision) its all I got right now, money is tight, but its something I wanted to do. I wanted to run a large scale operation thats why there are that many boards and as far as the member base of 4... the site was just created, maybe instead of critisizing the board you should have signed up and help get it off the ground, but its quite alright, now that I see what kind of an asshole you can be I would prefer you not to be on my board.

If I were you I'd download something like phpbb ([url]phpbb.com[/url]) or vb etc. Host it on a (free) server. So you don't have those lame adds, can do more to your board, add your own styles etc.

Telling you what it takes to make a good forum = asshole? k - good luck with your endeavours.

Website and media development is what I do, when I tell you that you're doing it wrong and you need it fixed, you have it wrong and need it fixed. I hope you build up a tolerance to non-rainbow laced posts, should you want to run a forum.

Big forums start out as small ones. You don't have to make tons of sections since you don't have enough people yet.

some people just dont understand constructive criticism and alot of people dont actually like giving it. techically your less of an asshole then the people not giving criticism. lol

anywho, yeah i gotta agree with what dom said. Maybe not the domain name, you could survive with a .tk or something like that until (if) the forum starts getting bigger. But everything else is right. I got to "-={ ']['hurisaz's Lair }=- latest news: IM HERE TO TAKE OVA!
" and closed the forum. Then i went back because i thought id have a look at the boards. Even if your forum was massive with loads of users, what you have is too much. boards for lineage 2, wow, silkroad, some other game and all these other random boards about completley unreleated stuff!?. Unless someone is into all/most of that stuff they would probably want to go to a forum dedicated to just the one thing they want.

My prediction is that if you keep it how it is, its going to turn out to be just a small tightly packed community at best. That is a good community, you hardly ever get flames or arguements and everyone is pleasent but it seems that isnt what you want.

Yeah we are still working on it, found the skin and we are editing the colors, we liked the general idea of the "Black Blood" theme, its nice but the red was a bit bright.
