Human Euthanasia?

Post by Stress »

In more and more countries of the world, people now have the opportunity to take a lethal injection in order to end their lives. If the pain they are going through is too great, humans now have the choice to end that pain on their own.

I, for one, see it as a new, bad, step in the development of mankind. Of course, at any moment someone could just go and kill himself, but do you find the legalization of lethal injections and other life-ending means moral and ethical?

Discuss.

You wake up, you wish you didn't, your whole body hurts, everything feels heavy and dead. You want to go back to sleep, then you realize you can't sleep through life, that you have to endure every moment of pain.
Personally, pain has never really bothered me as I'm used to getting messed up doing stupid stuff. If someone has a actual condition that causes their life to be hell, I think it's their right what they can do with it.

some people's diseease is way more worse than deah itself.

now you tell me, if someone is experiencing a pain beyond our imagination and he has lost the lust for life totally, is it our choice to keep him in life against his will?

i think not.

Pain is subjective, part sensation (nociception) part emotional (subjective, recall from past experience etc). What a terminally ill patient goes through, the suffering and pain, helplessness, burdonsomeness, of his/her and his/her family is something I could relate to personally and professionally. The patient has the right to end his/her life, and that right is universal. But assisting one to do so (euthanasia) is still illegal for most parts of the world. What the medical profession fears to advocate, lies more in the difficulty of regulating euthanasia (slippery slope, note subjectivity of pain), and its propensity for abuse (fradulent activities).

Anywho, I believe it shouldn't be provided at all. You may want to want to end your life one day, and be completely satisfied with it the next.

Think, you're going to die either way and you're in pain. Would you rather put up with the pain or just end it as quick as possible?

Similar thing, and food for thought; if a pet is suffering, it's inhuman to no end their suffering. But if a human is suffering, it's inhuman to want to end it? That's basically what outlawing euthanasia says to me. =/

If it can relieve you from the horrible pain you're suffering , I don't see any problem of euthanasia.

it is quite egoistic to keep a person alive who is suffering horrible pain and wants to die, by the way the person dies anyways.

ps: sorry for me english.

Pain is an illusion

Death is an illusion

Pants are an illusion

So don't wear them.

Ok, going on.

If your going through pain so hard, lilke there is a tank standing on you, you'd wish you could die.

But if people are keeping you alive against your will, and try to cheer you up but their bad comedians, you'd rather die..

I think, that if it is your own choice to have a euthanasia it is ok.

Human can make life and death, life is in your parent's hands, but death is in your own hands.

If you would be lost in the sahara, you can either choose to give up and die, or go on and have the mental power to go on, keep breathing and not give up.

So if you would want to give up when your life has no chance at all anymore, just go for it. then at least people would understand why you did it.

Yet, if you are a healthy person, destined to become a hundred and that much, and you have a broken leg and you wish for death..

You're just a sad person...-.-

My grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer about three years ago and was given six months or so to live. She ended up living for two years. But she lived those two years in incredible pain. A lot of the times, I would find my mother crying after a phone call with her because my grandmother said she just wanted to die. She was hooked up to a machine 24/7, and just lay in bed all day. She underwent chemo and all these medicines. And even after all of that, every single second she hurt. She knew she was going to die. All of us knew she was going to die. The only question was how long it would take.

So the point I'm trying to make is - if you're a terminally ill patient, and can count the months you have left to live on the fingers of one hand; you're in great, unbelievable pain every single second of your life - no matter waking or sleeping, psychologically and physically - then why should YOU not have the option to end your own life?

Couldn't have said this better.
In the Netherlands it is already allowed, but only with a doctor's permission. He will be responsible too.
I think that if someone has 0% of getting better and he/she is suffering pain, he/she may choose to die if he/she wishes.

Yes, I think so. Sometimes life has things in store that are worse than death(I wouldn't know off course because I've ever been dead), so if they want to then by all means go ahead.
