I`m sure you dont know the true story about that battle and never read the book about it or somthing... the only thing that makes the movie close to the story is "this is sparta" and that they pretend to be spartans... everything els is just a bullsh1t made by USA

Actually, they dont come from the desert, yes nowadays there is a desert, but back in the years when this is happend there was just a normal place were ppl lives (lol) nvm this.
About the elephants... well in the movie they look like some kind copy&pastetd from LOTR :D but actually in the Myth about this story, it say s that there actually is like 500-600 ppl on elephants... and most of the other were with horses.
And they actually defend sparta from the persians invasion, and they actually was 300 ppl. But the thing is, the milions of persians WIN at the end, kill every spartain and going pass tru this passage. But they were so few at the end. And the other tribes and ppls from the north (nowadays Bulgaria and some of the north Greece) finish and stoped the invasion of the Persians.

This is what the actual history book says about this :D

OMG...have IQ's suddenly dropped or something...ITS BASED ON A GRAPHIC NOVEL...based on the Battle of Thermopylae, the comic was
written in 1998

And yes it did take place and yes i know what really happened...for one
week 300 spartan warriors and 1300 other greeks managed to hold the
persians off....yes they all died and yes the persians were eventually
stopped when all the city states of Greece came together to form one
huge army. and it wasn't north Greece and it certainly wasn't Bulgaria
and are you stupid? of course it was a Farking desert. But keep in mind
that the Persian empire controlled everything from the border of India
all the way up to the Turkish coast (more then 80% desert). the elephants
were not ripped off from LOTR as war elephants have been used in battle
for a few thousand years now.
But the way they depicted the Spartans was spot on, they really were like
that...and its very probley that the Persians did in fact use elephants and
rhinos (probley from India)

Am sorry but what the **** do people expect? its a film based on the
fictional account (comic book) of a battle that happened almost 2480
years ago. I mean no shit its not going to be historically accurate...its not
trying to be at all ok.

You are so wrong.

1. This book that you are readed or the film was make off ... is from 1998 you say ? Strange I have a book with this story from 1952 year. And its copied from the original story that is even more older then 2000 years by now.... I dont care about this novel.
2. And actually only 300 spartains and no greeces at all hold the persians at one patch near some rock close to the see that only ONE man can pass and thats how actually they managed to keep them for one week.
3. In that time there wasnt any greece, there was Elenny (*Idk if I spell it right in english) the ancestors of the Greece and Spartains was from this Elennys, the name "spartain" comes from ONE city, named Sparta (remember sparta isnt kingdom or somthing, sparta was a small city with warriors society in the place of todays north Greece. And one more thing, many missunderstand taht Spartak is from sparta, actually Spartak isnt spartain at all... but this is other topic ) so this means this 1300 greeces never exist, this is bullshits writen in novel, but who cares when the americans dont know where their country is ? From were the hell should they know were sparta is ? :D (other topic again sorry)
4. Do you ever heard about Mesopotamia ? If yes, then stop stating that there was a desert, if no keep saying bullocks like that.
5. When I said the elephants was rip off from the LORT I mean only in the movie. I know there was an elephants army in the persians warriors... lol read my words above again.
6. And tahts what happens about the movie based on comic book, taht pretents to be historical accure is this - you, and ppl like you taht think like this " Oh this was in that novel, and in the movie, ohh its true its true why do I use my brain and go to school when I watch 300 ? " -.-'

Seriously, you dont know nothing about my history... I learn that in 3 degree *(here this is 8-9 years old kids)

1] Comic books rarely, if at all, strive to be historically acurate. 300 was not a historical documentury if you want to watch a accurate depiction of the battle of thermoplye here is a link: http://www.history.com/shows.do?episode ... ion=detail

2] Correct.

3] You my friend are sadly mistaken i hate to quote wikipedia but google is having a love affair with wiki -_- : history of greece because google and wiki are lovers

4] lol@you. Satman had it on spot, about 80% desert. Mesopotamia is nothing compared to the massive stretch of land the Persians conquered: Image

5] no argument here

6] DUDE satman said its NOT historically accurate. Stop twisting his words just to make Americans seem ignorant. FYI he is English ;)

LOL@you.. this link that you post is a history of Greece, but Greece nowadays that we know, as I said already in the time were this happens the Greece culture just was come to this lands thanks to the Elinnys and when the Elinnys mixt up a liitle with the home culture and religions and ppl after that the Greece start to becoming the true ancient greece that we know. As I said, Elinnys is an ancestors of the ancient greece community and if the Greece ppl comes to this lands like 1500 BC the Elinnys was here maybe ~2000 BC. So this is what I talk about. The spartains and many other tribes and cities in the territories of the Greece (that exist today in this terriotories) wasnt greec at all, there was Elinnyes or Slavians (some of the ppl who mixt with the Elinnys and became an ancient Greece, and some of the ppl who they took many of their religion, gods, culture and etc.)

And btw, many things writed in Wikipedia, channeled on some channels like Discovery channel and etc are bullshits, things that are created to wash your brain.

Just, I know may facts and my history too well for telling me that

Hate to burst your bubble, but you're an idiot:

Name and New York City connection

Gotham is known to be architecturally modeled after New York City, but with exaggerated elements of the styles of the city; before Detective Comics #48, Batman's adventures were said to happen in New York City. Gotham City derives its name from a sobriquet for New York City which was first popularized by the author Washington Irving in his satirical work Salmagundi (1807). Irving adopted the name from the story of the Wise Men of Gotham, in which the inhabitants of the town of Gotham (in Nottinghamshire, England) behave like madmen.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotham_City

You shouldn't be so quick to try to point out mistakes. There's a reason why I wrote New York, and not Gotham. Think about it, in the context of the argument I pushed.

Too many good movies this year.

As for the worst...Superbad was as the name suggested, worst movie I actually watched this year.

300 was definitely one of the best, and transformers was actually pretty good for something originating from american kids' show.
