Is it just me, or this version is unstable?
Since the Legend II update, my game has been noticeably unstable, to the point of frustration. The game has got such a huge memory leak I can't do mcuh before the game crashes to desktop and reward me with the infamous '?????' window (which is supposed to be a log report but wasn't translated).
I can tell it's a memory leak due to several other things happening. First, textures will refuse loading. For example, if traveling from Hotan to Donwhang and then to the last floors of the Donwhang Stone Cave, the walls and floor textures won't load and they will remain white. If I try to keep playing, the game will eventually crash.
Also, the game sounds will stop playing after some time. This is a bit annoying, since I use my hearing to do a few timings when using skills, but I would like to be able to play with sounds enabled again. Turning off the sound has reduced the chance of crashing, but not by much.
Also I made a stall during the night. I set my character just outside of the main Hotan Walls (On the sandy safe zone just outside the city walls) and fully restarted my system, and left the stall overnight. I made sure I was somewhere almost no one comes trough. By the morning, I still was logged in, but as I went inside the Hotan town square to sort my items, I quickly crashed.
I can tell it's not my video driver, I've gone and updated it all, and it's fairly new. My hosts file on the Windows folder is still there with the proper linkage. Probably buying more RAM wouldn't help because I have got 1gb and the game, apart from the absurd memory consumption, crashes way before the whole 1gb are used. I don't use any third party programs. I've done several anti-virus and anty-spyware scans with no avail. Reinstalling the game didn't work either.
But it looks like no one else seems to be having the same problems. I still read posts of people being online for days without logging off, and not a single complain post (which of course, would be the first reaction should it be a general problem).
Does anyone have an idea of what is my problem? Is anyone else out there having it? Any ideas on how to fix it?

that too, its not all sounds its just the background music, because if you go to the options and click backgriund music, it fixes it

Before legend II, I had no problem. Then I had the ???? error a lot. I finaly found, a week before the fortress war update, that playing in 1024x768 instead of 1280x1024 was the solution. So be it.
Then the fortress war update. ???? again, damn it. This time, I solved my problem using the nvidia drivers from the silkroad website. The latests from nvidia themselves didn't work. So be it.
Then last tuesday, new update. ???? again, damn it again. This time it's the sound. I don't crash anymore by disabling the sound in my game menu. I used to play with the sound as well. but well, so be it...
Waiting for the next client update to look for a new way to fix the new ???? error.

Some friend told me to try out the Omega Drivers for my video card. It didn't make a difference. Original drivers or not, I still crash.
I'd really like to be able to play with in-game sounds again. I am a cleric and a trader and by using sounds I can figure out what is happening around me, so I can do things accordingly.
I tried switching to run it on only one core, didn't work either (maybe some placebo effect but not really).
The sounds bug when alt-tabbing is rather common, but ticking it off again after coming back fixes it... But it isn't related to the memory leak issue (happened way before already).

honestly im noticing more stability than before. at first it was less stable because they did SOMETHING to the graphix. but i got the stripped version of my drivers from tweaksrus.com (they work better than manufacturers driver IMO) and that fixed my video instability, and i got 512 meegs of ram for my 7 year old system that im running. so now its stable as all get out.
probably should make sure you defrag and makes sure your drivers are updated or tweaked.
