PowerlLeveling guildies, what can i tell them?

Post by KylieMinogue »

okay, i power leveled my self from 1 to level 30 using my main account. i have a laptop and a PC, so i just installed SRO also in my laptop. My main account is a level 40 STR bow, i leveled up my warrior till 30 with it, and from then on at 30, i just went to parties and leveled myself up that way, now i'm 46.

What's annoying is, peeps in my guild that is over 30 wanting me to help them level up, also, my other friends are level 23, and 27, i don't mind helping them still till 30, but it's annoying when the first thing i get asked when i log in the game is "can you help me level up?" we;; actually that's would be the second thing i hear, the first thing is the usual "Hi"

What can i tell them????

i've said i'm on quests, which i really am mostly doing quest when i do say it, but i also do use that as an excuse. I mostly only can help when i'm bored, that is it.

The other reason why i don't like power leveling them is that, I'm already tired from grinding trying to level myself up, and also, money, i have to buy pots or arrows for their benefit, and right now I'm low on that cuz i just promoted my guild to a higher level.

The easiest way is just to say no, and tell them you aren't in the mood to powerlevel. The powerleveling they get is a priviledge, not a need.

Tell them that you wont plvl for free. That is what I said when ppl asked to be in my guild. No one ever wanted to join after I said that though, lol.

OMG I have the same Prob at 65, Same with my academy. My academy don't understand that the point of it isn't powerlvling, But to help and the buffs. Most of my guild is now 50+ anyway. But my academy gets to 32+ and then leave if i don't plvl them to 40. They don't even use their dam buffs, so it's pointless to have the dam academy.

I usually unequip my weapon when watching the pvp at samarkand so I won't get asked for powerleveling >_> I hate when random people ask for it. It annoys me more than the 10k plz people...

And who cares if they leave the guild/academy, eventually you'll get some good members that hopefully won't be annoying >_<

When I registered my academy, I put in the description and the notice "NO POWERLEVELING!" I kicked anyone who asked after that.

I dont PL guildies cause A: Im a cleric without any attack skills and B: PLed players make bad PVPers.

tbh; I find that a stupid reason.. A powerlvl'ed account can be good in pvp same as you. You just think because they didn't grind their own ass up to lvl 80 ( or what ever ) then they don't know their chars. Anyway

Just be honest and tell them you don't want to powerlvl them.

I get the same thing from my friends and guildies. The best thing to do, as others have suggested before me, is just to say no.

Like Nyahgis typed, it's a priviledge, not a need...though lots of players I know think of it the other way around lol

Actually, I know this from personal experience. Do you know how many tanks I have met that dont use taunt cause it doesnt do damage or who think quota is bad cause it kills the pt?

There is no substitute for learning your class one step at a time through pt leveling. PLing a chinese is fine, PLing a euro isnt.

Yeah, some people just asks plvl like it is required. I have no problem plvling someone to lvl 32 or so, just to get them started. (My requirment is no sp farming for them, I can tell if the gap is more than 3.) But afterwards, I usually only plvl them for 1 level every time they level up 3 levels by themselves.

I think that is fair. If you put in the effort, I will gladly help you out. But if you only depend on me to level you up, I am sorry but now you are using me and hence I must refuse.

As for plvl and pvp skills, I dont' think it is directly related. Pvp skills comes with more cape battles.

I dont mind the GRIND but i hate to farm ( i hate it so bad ) .
I need only like 300 sp and for hand grind it is so long ,boring ets.
So i need powerfarm curently i am 33 lv rogue with 30 lv mast o rouge and bard farming and its 13 k sp for rogue and i can make 10 k with 1lv gap but i am not sure its try .

So i search for some one to powerfarm me but no one powerfarms my lv i have money and time .But people get over it no one powerfarms /lvs for free unless it is a friend and low lv people cant find a high lv friend and even friends say "get lost " . Why coz they are selfish when they were low lv and i was high they asked me for cash for protection for help how to play the game and all the time i said yes or wait a sec .
So now STFU power lv /farm is not free , if you want points from academy you (FAST) you will have to power lv ,if your want your guild to be strong you must power lv ( people can learn to play in a week with their power lved char) .

We are talking about PvP , not tanking .... And I totaly agree with Deacon ... This game is just about spamming skills .. there is no good or bad pvper .. really you are retard if you are bad at Pvp ... there is like 5 skills
you use most of time ... Silkroad is just way to easy to learn to play ...

PLing a chinese is fine, PLing a euro isnt.

And why is that? .... Its bad to Powerlvl any class , but we do it

Lol, one of the main problems out there! I've been asked so much, being a wiz/cleric, that I have a huge list of excuses to use. In the begining, I used "can't do it b/c of quest", "my GT is running" <-- used that all the time, "I am partying", "just finished grinding, so i need a break". If it's random people, I don't even bother, I just flat out say no, or sometimes no dice, I like to mix it up.

Now, when someone in the party PMs me with hi, and I check their lvl is under 60, I instantly reply with > "No, I will not power level you, stop asking". Never had to correct myself yet.

Worst one was some random guy pms me and he's like "Let's get down to business....I got GT and I need 40 % to lvl 60, I am tired of lvl 59, so plvl me".....all I said was. "If you are so tired of 59, get off your lazy ass and level yourself."

Now guildies are a little more delicate, because they will get mad and create guild/union drama for being lazy. So eventually, the best way is to flat out become an asshole and refuse right away, and make it clear that you will not power level anyone, and you will only do it if you want to so they should stop asking.

Serious laziness, I swear....but I don't think it matters if you get plvled from 1-40 or not, you will spend 5x the time getting from 70-71 anyway, so there is plenty of time to develop party skills.

@Nitrozz ...maybe if you are chinese it's spamming skills, but when you can't use 2 hp pots in 1 sec and you die in 5 sec without pots, you start thinking what to use first and when to counter skills. Euro PvP requires a lot more than spamming. You need to know your skills, and you need to know when to use them.
Taunt is just an example, and it's a damn good example if you have ever been in a Euro party with a tank that doesn't know how to taunt. A lot of people don't know when to use sprint assault, earth barrier, scorn! Ever seen anyone use scorn in Job PvP? Nightbloom knows what she's talking about.

Simple, put it in the guild announcement, "I will not be Plvling any more." or just make it a rule to not beg for plvling in the guild.

Guild rule here too: "No one is to ask/beg for powerleveling. We will offer, you can then accept or decline"

We have a schedule. People volunteer out of the goodness of their heart, and spend time helping other people when they could be working on their own character...especially at the higher levels.

I agree with Nightbloom. If you spent too much time being lvled, you miss some of the important parts of the game and you don't always know how to play your character. It isn't (or shouldn't be) a mad rush to level 80 to PVP.

Yeah, seriously, if you get powerleveled to 80, it might seem cool at first, but its really unfair for those who have to grind it by hand, probably the powerlevelers, and to see that kind of impatience and immaturity makes most powerlevelers flat out reject you.

Also, personally, powerleveling to 30 doesnt seem like a big deal, mainly because for many classes, you get you're good skills for a long time, but after that, using someone to powerlevel you is pretty close to botting.

That is so true! xD
I have never met a Euro warrior below level 40 who knows how to use taunt, vital increase, pain quota, and physical screen to the fullest. In fact, I almost never see any warriors training at all. Where do they all go? The ones I do meet are 2 handers that don't speak the same language and they run far away from the party luring mobs, KDing things, and telling me to "heal plz" when they're completely out of the healing range. Hell no. Is it a result of constant plvling that they haven't partied much before? =/

Even my friend in real life plays a 2h warrior and although he has good intentions and he's nice, I still think he's a noob. =( I guess warriors take tons of skill to play.

On topic: Do you think plvling is OK if you pay money for it? As in taxi-ing? How about powerfarming?

I agree with you here, I think if the person pays for it and the powerleveler is happy to level you its ok.

I know the only reason I ever get power leveled anymore is when I make a new char or remake a char. Example I had a pure strength fire glavie tank on Oasis from when I used to play, well me and some real life friends started playing on Odin, so I got a pure strength two handed euro char that I started and got him powerleveled this morning because I just didn't feel like ginding all the way to 80 again. That took a while and a lot of headache on that glavie. :banghead:

Thats a great idea, I never thought of that, just give a specified P.L. time and cost. Make it worth your while, once a week and charge I would even do a cost per level system. 1000gold per level minimum maybe higher.

nightbloom is right. From what I seen many pleveld or botted euros just suck at partying and pvp. I mean to them, what's the point of having party buffs when they just get pleveld or botted? It's disappointing when i see 60-70+ euros who don't have any of the shields or fences and are clueless with their jobs in the party.
