download the burning crusade, and the first two patches you see. Then install burning crusade and go to options [after its installed and you started it] in options you should see 5 options, pick the one where it says something like "download and install updates after you exit the game. stop updates and patches when you start up the game"
after clicking that, and confirming click start on the WoW launcher. Then install the first patch [burning crusade 2.0.x -> 2.0.3] when that is down installing, install the second patch [burning crusade 2.0.3 -> 2.0.12]. After doing that the game should start auto patching. it will auto patch 3 times on the startup screen, then it will activate the blizzard installer and start patching you up to version 2.3.x this should take 10 minutes - 24 hours [depending on your connection and settings] see you in game
my way is easier :p because on http://www.blizzard.com it won't let you d/l the burning crusade with a trial acc. i totally owned, and by-passed. LOOP HOLES FTW!!

why do I need to patch to 2.0.3 then unpatch to 2.0.12?
You don't need TBC, I'm not sure if it's available in WoWscape, but you can check if you just want a Normal wow account without Burning crusade, then u wont have to download, but i recommend downloading burning crusade, is around on the net, just search it.
I played WoW for a little with my mage but it was not as fun as I thought it was going to be. The graphics where a let down, coming from a game like SRO's graphics. I think it is a good game for when your bored I guess.

@,darkmaster, you should try dieing. i died in the game and i was OMG the graphics look tons better when your dead
I used to play there a while ago, before expansion came out and it gets boring pretty fast. Had the best gear and knew a bunch of tricks to get things like flying mounts (they weren't available back then, dunno about now). Unfortunately they delete accounts after 2 weeks inactivity I believe so all my stuff has been long gone, else I'd give it away.
