any good PC games

Just figured out that my 2 year old computer cannot handle ghost recon: advanced warfare :banghead:

Do any of you play any good PC games that you could recommend?

I have 1 GB RAM and 1.4 Ghz. My video card is not even worth mentioning and buying a RADEON card is not option (ask my dad for details :banghead:

)

I'm itching to play a fun game over winter break and I'm wondering if I should get a call of duty game or battlefield 2142

Counter strike source ftw you could try that.
I dont know about the CoD recommended specs but i dont think you will be able to run CoD4 for without a good gfx card.

if you can't run ghost recon, then odds are you can't play most fps games..

Try out a demo For Call of Duty 2, if that works, u should buy it (its awesome, fun as hell)

well its a newer game and the computer requirements are pretty high. My computer can run call of duty united offensive but it got deleted (ask my dad for details about that too :banghead:

and I'm sure I can run Cod2. I'm just wondering if there are any good games other than WWII genre FPS. Battlefield 2142 looks nice but KOTOR 2 looks fun too.

anyone have battlefield 2142? I heard that its just battlefield 2 in a futuristic style, and if thats true I don't wanna get it. Because you can't kill any friggin person in battlefield 2. You have to shoot at him nearly an entire mag to kill him and there are no intense firefights. Just walk around a huge map for 5 min until you run into ONE enemy soldier who kills you and you have to wait 20 sec again. argh!!

BF 2142 is IMO not close as fun as BF 2 was. besides Im not sure if you can run it~~ 1 g ram is nice but 1.4 GH....

you could try Red Faction ( 1 ) thats a great FPS. Mostly single player, but it should keep you busy for at least some time

and it should be like $5 nowdays

Soldier of fortune is fun lol, SoF 2, Rainbow six ravenshield <3

damn. beat me to it. kotor2 is amazing! doesn't require much on the computer its self so it makes a great game for your comp

is GTA grand theft auto? There is no way in hell that my parents would let me buy grand theft auto. To them, its taboo enough for even checking out the PC game aisle in best buy :banghead:

I prefer FPS games and maybe I'll get KOTOR 2 since people say its good. I might get cod2 or battlefield 2142 but I want to make it a good buy and be able to run it without putting it on low graphics

Well my friends P4 3GH 512 ram with geforece 5x could barely run it.. on low.. might be because of sh*tty setups or something, but download the demo first to make sure it all works~~

yeah I think I'll download demos for bf2142 and cod2. I'm gonna see about KOTOR 2 and the IGN ratings for it are already really good so I might get that.

2142 is a pretty good game, it is a futuristic version of bf2, takes like 3 high shots to kill someone. there are a lot of intense firefights ect ect, usually get 20-80+kills per round depending on how you play. respawns differ from server to server, most are ~5secs. but cod2/4 and 2142 are really diffrent types of games, can't really compare the two.

Do you have bf2142? I really want to play a game like this (you know like a refreshing break from a WWII theme like cod2) and something with vehicles (cod2 has no vehicles), but when I think about how bad battlefield 2 was, I don't want to play 2142 anymore.

You sure you can kill people in 2142? I know its a lame question, but to me, I couldn't kill anyone in battlefield 2 without having to use a full mag. Not that I suck at aiming, but even at point blank range, I didn't have a feeling of that "oh yeah I just loaded your head with a slug now your dead". Felt like I was shooting a machine or something.

yeah I have it. actually played it for a couple months after I had quit sro, still play it occasionally. it's got a huge ranking system, really fun. the map types online are conquest, which is just teamdeathmatch, no vehicles for most maps, and titan. with titan there are like 6 missile silos on the ground that shoot off every 2mins at the enemy team's titan. they have shields, once the shields go town, teams can assault and defend the titans, either blow them up from destroying 4 consols then an inner core, or just kill them with silos. oh and its pretty easy to kill, although when you just start you will have low rank weapons, but then again you can always pick up other peoples kits till your rank up and unlock weapons.
