It is against the rules, but simple edits are only viewable by yourself, so there's no way Joymax can ban you for it unless you admit to it / post screenshots of edits on the official forums. Also, if you do an edit that can be viewed by other players (like giving yourself a [GM] name, you will be caught and banned.

nope I mean like PK editting my weapons and make them look like deg 10 and that stuff.. yeah it's viewable only by me... but the question is, will this be considered a "modified client"? so if Joymax runs an inspection or they would discover it and ban me?

WRONG.

It is NOT a modified client.

No, they will not ban you for pk2 edits.

I've been pk2 editing for quite a while (over a year) on several different chars, joymax has never banned me or come close to. They have no way of knowing who pk2 edits.

Even if they did know you pk2 edited, they likely wouldn't ban you. Why? Cuz it doesn't give you any advantage over anyone.

joymax also bans for botting but when is the last time you did see a real player get banned?
anyway pk2 is against the tos since you are modifying joymax files
the fact is that they never can tell if you done pk2 or you must post screenshots of you at the official forums even then the chance is still small you get banned

but its a fact some people got banned due to pk2 editing

Silkroad.exe in the silkroad folder is the client. some people might say sro_client.exe is aswell but that just starts Silkroad.exe when you hit start..

Media.pk2 does not talk to the server and cant be edited to change anything server side.

Client is something that interacts with the server. If u say Media.pk2 has nothing to do with interacting with the client then u are wrong. If there is anything modified wrong, and it doesnt match with what demanded by the server, your game will crash.

When u download the client, u dl everything include pk2 files, not just the sro_client.exe.

Removing any file in sro folder, your game wont work properly so it's a part of the client.
