This is why the mercs are gone
I think the mercs are gone, because else the fortress war will not be pvp anymore.
Every guild coming there will spawn mercs, so it will be an immense amount of mercs against the defending guild. xD

enlighten me, what did mercs do with 1 star poping? I 1 star poped all the time and used mercs when I had multiple hunters after me and never did it help me or help the trader, the mercs wouldnt kill 1 stars and 99% of the traders were low lvls

I didnt say the sucessfully stopped it, infact it made job wars annoying.
But that WAS what they where for.

NO you can pretty much summon them at any time... But won't let you use cape or let you summon when you have cape...
Discussed this before, mercs were removed mostly because of the siege and not because Joymax actually listened to those whiners...
If you have premium and you're a union leader, you can pretty much exploit the mercs... Log out once they get wiped and log on in again to summon, repeat... The timers reset, and if you haven't noticed, if you have mercs and you dc, they disappear after 2 mins...

did earth merc actually use earth skills or just the standard hit, I summoned fire mers with my euro one time and all they did was the standard hit for like 1k each hit on a str that had mercs, no meteor or fire bolt.

Mercs were necessairy before the euro update, since all the people with full sun were pretty much unbeatable without them. Now that a wizards and rogues 1-2 shot a sun glavier and a cleric just pwns them right up, they became completely unnecessary. If the sun drops weren't messed up, we would never have needed them in the first place, and when 9 cap comes that will once again be true. No sun makes the game so much more fun.

true then it really comes down to skill, luck and crits, not who has 50 gold bots working for them, like one guy on our server that has had 66 people graduate from his acdamy and bought himself a lvl 70 sun glavie, all the graduates are his gold bots.

The reason we don't have mercs anymore is because the client we got is the exact same as the kSRO client except we don't have the 80+ items and skills. That is why instead of just updating our client we ended up downloading a new one. Updates that just came out in kSRO plus old ones that never came out here are now introduced, HP/MP bars came out about 1-3 weeks ago but Ivy came out with Euro in kSRO. The wording, player selecting and other things are also implemented in kSRO already. Thats why in latest views of mass pvp in kSRO does not include mercs.
