Mages have this skill called Magic Guard in which whenever its activated 80% of the damage you take is taken off of mp and you yourself only take 20% of the damage.
I know this would be cheap if everyone had it so I was thinking you start out taking 80% dmg and using mp to buffer the other 20% and as you lvl up the skill the % changes to 20% and 80%.
I think this would be really useful for nukers.
Your thoughts?
LVL 28 PURE INT NUKER ATHENS - RoflWaffle - HighGuards
For everybody who doono what he actually wants to say, here is a little explanation:
The magic that he wants to be added in game is Mana Shield, it absorbs a % (percentage) of dmg into mana. Some of you could know it from Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne.
The idea is not bad, but it's also way too powerful. In WoW there is a balance, for example mages can not have soo much mana so that they are invincible (ccan take no HP dmg) with this magic. But if here a int. builder would use this with a lot of MP potions... That would be too strong.

Actually the first time I encountered this type of skill was in the original Diablo. And we have several skills like this: mountain shield, fire wall, ice wall. You just can't move while using them.
but silkroad isn't the type of game where you have skills like for xx seconds you have + xx % dmg ( attribute str )
If you want those skills go play guild wars or wow

I think Pure Int and Str builds are equal..
Str builds have higher HP but lower damage. Int builds have lower HP but higher damage.
This skill would mean that Int builds can take more than or equal damage than Str builds.. Thus, an unfair skill. ^_^
Since pure str does lower damage does that mean they have disadvantages killing monsters/people? Or do they just do lower damage than nukers cause im going full str and i dont wanna get pwned by every monster/person i see
actually this skill would be self balancing for int characters, pretty useless for str though. becasue if a str build crit you, or just hit yyou or wtv, the next hit would pretty much wipe out your MP, thus you are totally weak.
well thats how i saw it.

It's in loads of games, i dunno where it is from, but the oldest place with it is ragnarok online, in which there are several cards(which are like gems in d2 in which u socket em into items) that move damage into ur mp instead of hp, and i THINK that the wiz has a skill for it as well... energy coat i think it was called...
The coat would actually make int players out of mp like misaklo said..
in ms, for example getting hit by a c.log would pretty much wipe out all mp so you cant attack..sorta pointless, survive but no attack, no tele
btw ms = the sux0rz. cant believe i played either..
