sharpening tool

ok so i made this ... and used the sharpening tool on the hair, the shadow across her nose, and the white star like things in the bg, but after i did so, it doesnt look any different. ...

Try adding a small border.

i can see that her hair has been sharpened, you can tell by looking at it

try when your totally done with your sig, make a new layer on top of everything and go to image>apply image

the do a filter sharpen on it, then set this layer to lighten, it makes it kinda glow at the edges...

i dont really know what your asking, i can see that her hair has been sharpened...

i did the apply image thing, and wow... to my amazment i lightened the render up a bit, yet keeping it still dark... that works alot better than the white dot trick ^^

Looks better. You can always use the dodge and burn tool for lightining/darkening spots.

the lighten filter only changes the image if it makes it lighter, so if you drew a big black line and put it on lighten it wouldnt show up, its the exact opposite of darken

the lighten mode, when you set something to lighten, it only affects the image if it makes it lighter, so if you drewa big black line across the sig, adn the mode was on lighten, the black line wouldnt show up, so when you use it it can only lighten
