So I was playing baccarat and this skinny/short asian lady shows up, sits next to me and drops a 20.000 pesos chip which is around the 1000 US$, so I was hum... okay. She lost 4 times in a row in less than 5 minutes playing the same amount of money, I was playing in two different tables and so was she, player was ahead for a few points so I decided to play banker and see what happens, so I sat next to her and she had this black backpack FULL of 20.000 and 10.000 pesos chips, at one point she had lost almost everything and had like 5 chips left. I decided to go outside and smoke a ciggie and I came back 15 minutes later to see she had won over 400.000 pesos.
I asked who she was and it turns out she is one of the korean managers of this huge fish ship company and that she once lost over 1 million pesos in one night..
Funny thing is she looked like a beggar and she smelled like fish and she walked out with the same amount of money I earn in 2 months.
I know that's probably nothing compared to casinos in the US but for me it's a big deal and I just can't get how someone can waste money like that.. then again she was korean.
I find it funny because the low class korean workers that arrive to Uruguay in fish ships are always scammed by prostitutes (they get them drunk first
).
