Is Size So Important?
In my family, it has allways been simple: the boys get tall, the girls length will depend on the mother's family tallness.
so as it is obvious for me, I'm tall. but I'm also kinda fat. not that I'm really big or anything, but still chubby.
So, last weekend I got this great new shirt. Black, with gold digets saying Big buissness.
Of course, why not, would it be too small for me? and why wouldn't the shop have it in a bigger size?
So, since this shirt is really great, and it is perfect for a party, I decided to go on a diët so that I can fit into it on our schools' X-mas party.
Though it's only like, 10 pounds or something to get off, people keep wondering...
Are sizes so important? or do some people even care about how they look?
or does somebody who is fat/chubby ever thinks about going on a diet or is he/she just happy about how they look like?
And this isn't another 'Are You Fat' thread, this is a question If sizes are so freaking important!

I'm not really sure what you're asking, but IMHO, body size isn't as big of a deal as cardiovascular health. A recent study just came out showing that overweight people who regularly excercise can be healthier than their thinner counterparts who are sedintary.
Now, obviously, if you really get into exercising, especially weights, your metabolism will go up and you will lose fat and increase muscle mass. You won't necessarily lose "weight" but your body will look different.
It really depends on what your priorities are. IMO, society puts too much emphasis on how one "looks" as to how healthy one is.

Good thread.
I think it all depends of how you feel.
My best friend is fat, big. And i wish every1 in this world had his personality. And his gf is really cute (unlike him, she's all skinny-good body and figure, go to gym with me, etc etc), so that fact (he being fat) didnt mind at all for her.
You dont have to lose 10 pounds so poeple comes and go like "oh wow, you look cool". If you want to do it to fit on your t shirt, and at the end you feel great, then it really worths you lose your 10 pounds
.
Most of the people care about how the others look .
Now as in for me, i love a guy who takes care of his body and mind tho; doesnt mean he/she needs to go to gym 24/7 or be the smartest guy in this world.
and @
i dont know if it's THAT important to me, but at least i try to keep my body healthy. So yeah, it's important.
personality>looks
hope you have fun on your xmas party

Honestly, I need to gain weight.
I barely fit into male medium shirts, european size
None of that american bullshit, why the **** did they make the sizes different so fat people would feel skinny?
I come from a skinny family, and my sister constantly bitches about the fact that since she moved to the states she now wears zero, when she used to wear 4s back in the day.
(talking about jeans by the way,)
Basically, europeans are more fit than americans, and american sizes are bullshit, and Americans need to acknowledge that people are unfit, and not change their Farking sizes to support unhealty ways.
None of this is aimed at thread creator.
Just ranting about sizing of clothes.

and like Amelie said: personality > looks
(PS: I wear XXL or XXXL, I can wear XXL easily but I like my shirts wide hehe, not easily but you catch my drift...I think)

@redneck- pics or your lying
OT: I don't think anyone is ever satisfied with the way they look. But if your going to lose weight to fit into a shirt why not go the distance and lose a couple more pound so you won't be chubby. Its seems healthy to be concerned about your weight but very superficial that your only doing it to fit into a shirt.
If your going to try and lose a little weight keep up with it and take it all off. Im sure your nice but if your personality was so great you wouldn't have to worry about things like this. so...
Tall+fit= winner
tall+chubby= a bit more work if you don't have a dynamite personality....
but im a very shallow person when it comes it comes to looks...

If you have extra weight, always wear a wifebeater and tuck it in your pants. It will hold everything down, and make your shirts fit like they should. Also make sure you always get something structured. The biggest mistake people make is trying to hide the shape of their body by buying big clothes - you won't look skinny, people can still tell you're fat. The best way to do it is to buy structured clothes which outline your manly features and compliment other parts of your body. You will never be able to hide the extra pounds you have on; you want to make what you have look better, not disappear.

I've already posted lots of pics - try the search function. If you want, I can also tell you how skinny people should dress. Or you could try here: http://ca.askmen.com/fashion/index.html Articles for men about style and fashion, almost all of which I have read.

woa... this thread has changed into an 'Are You Fat' thread...
Actually the question of this thread was:
Is your clothing size so important?or do some people even care about how they look?
or does somebody who is fat/chubby ever thinks about going on a diet or is he/she just happy about how they look like?
