Modified Client?
Modified Client?
What's this about a modified client that doesn't close itself when you can't connect? :S
I still can't connect to Troy, WTH how can you all connect? :S:S

i think he is asking about the modified client
basically it makes it so that you never get the "disconnect" error.
IMO there is nothing wrong with it. Its a problem that joymax should fix. Its similar to how people cope with bots by ks/pk'ing them. just a temporary solution to a problem that should be handled by joymax.
however it is illegal and so use it at your own risk, and i don't even know where to find it :/

Why don't u go to all the PK2 edit threads in the guide section and say that.
Big gray zone, even the MODs here use them.

Personaly I don't give a damn. I spend ~15-20min (when servers are very crowded) trying to log in. Imagine how much time I'd spend w/o the no dc client?
its detectable
Oh yeah? How?
It's the same client just edited a little so I wouldn't dc you after getting "cannot connect due to server traffic"

edited means it send a different packet to the sro server. compare it to a md5 checksum when you change anything the program might respond the same but the code it sends is not the same.

How do you know that?

How do you know that?I doesn't send different packets, the client itself gives dc after failed connection, not the server.
The client sends the username, password info to server...
If it passes, server sends back the captcha...
Client sends what you type in for the captcha response...
Server checks the captcha THEN check whether there is room or not...
and sends back either "Connected" or "Disconnected".
The client gets this response from the server and it's instructions are to exit. The modified client simply changes this so that the client goes back to the login screen rather than exit. Most of the time when a program is changed in this way, there is just one tiny little bit of hex code that is modified in the whole program, but it IS detectable... if someone is watching.
And if JMax were watching anything other than CCFs and chargebacks, welll.... that's a whole other story.
