As for the rest of this thread.... Most of you are shitheads who cant see the forest for the trees.

Anyone who can read can figure out how DJ might have gotten his account secured.

no offense to anyone, but in Dark Jackal's situation, it doesn't look like his account got screwed due to the flaw in the website. If it was the website he would not have been able to recover his account.

Hello. This is Silkroad Online. i bet they cut and paste this part from a prefab notice

Recently, many players have got nervous regarding stolen account problem. nervous? more like awestruck, dazed, confused, pissed off and pissed off again.

However, there are absolutely no problems with JOYMAX.COM's account system. since we already fixed it 24 hours before posting this notice, it didnt happen, ya?

We strongly recommend our users to change their password again who are anxious about their account. because god only knows what might happen if Joymax do somethign to help

Some harmful sites have spread rumors about stolen account problem but those sites rather threaten your computer's security. our research team consists of two eight year old boys, of which we heavily medicate and lock in an airtight lightless, spinning, vibrating room of which is solely airated with helium and sulphur, we then whip them and ask them what they think of rev6

Therefore, to tighten up your computer's security, please restrict yourself from visiting those harmful sites, and run an anti-virus program at least once a week. duck tape your hands to the arms of your chair or something! seriously, even thinking about that link will make your computer turn into soviet mafia and sell your chickens to your neighbour

Thank you. keep buying silk and feeding our fatasses you dumb foreign fucktards : D

i think i fixed it as best i could

my real life penis is probably as long as your forearm.
anyway, id figure most of the hackers would go into the silkroadonline.net account and changed the email there so that anyone who would try to change their pw on the joymax portal would get denied. Maybe im missing something but o well, ill just give up :S

I don't disagree with Joymax

It seems to me people were not "HACKED"

You were all scammed.

If you hadn't compromised your account information and followed the security procedures as Joymax consistantly reminds its players, you wouldn't have gotten scammed.

So far, everyone that has posted about someone being scammed, seems obvious to me the person negligent about their account.

1). Don't be retarded giving your Account information away. They knew your ID. Your ID was the same as your Character's name. You ARE A RETARD.

2). Email Verification. Joymax told you to do it. And you didn't cause you are such a genius.

You were scammed not hacked. Scammed using some website glitch. Is it Joymax's fault that you were a retard? I don't think so.

Now with new update, Joymax tells you to change your Password.

Now you have a choice. Use Email Verification or Secret Answer.

Use Email Verification idiots. That hacking spree was about bypassing the secret answer, not the email verification. Do the email verification, I believe you need to know your secret answer if hadn't verified your email before anyways.

If you don't know all your information, ROFLMAO, You're SCREWED!

Still playing the blame game Demarthl?

Still wanting to blame someone else instead of your friends?

Still thinking Joymax hacked your account?

Still in denial?

Still can't admit that Silkroad players are retards?

Pick any of the above or all.

Take responsiblity for your mistakes. Don't go crying on forums saying its all Joymax's fault. Don't be a baby and start blaming others for your mistakes.

Quoted from Crumpets "Why an event ?

Cause Silkroad players farked other players over?
Cause rev6 thought they were doing the good thing, yet made sure 100's of innocents got raped.

Cause people cant stop sharing their ID's when it IS stated in the T.O.S. not to do so.

I see no point tbh."

This guy sometimes even too blunt for me. But this is one of the few times I'm in total agreement. People asking for an event. Look at all the posts. Look in game. Its the players and yourself to blame that's it.

People posting well Joymax posted your ID on their forums.

As Crumpets stated also,

"Only if you posted.

Hence it being your own fault in a way : >"

Its been stated and advised over and over in every forums I've ever visited to DO NOT POST ON OFFICIAL FORUMS. It was stated during beta of silkroad, DO NOT POST ON BLAH BLAH.

But people do, and people do get scammed.

Its called scam, not a hack.

tl:dr

i blame you ruckus.

your head is too inflammatory and it caused a wide hole in the fishnet security fence of joymax's walls

yes, players are partly to blame, if they wernt selfish greedy assholes no one would go about hacking anyone else.
but the hacking was only possible due to an exploit in joymax's security, who controls joymax's security? thep layers? no can't blame them for that, its joymax (gasp shock horror dance the thriller etc...)
and after that, who;s to blame for making the exploit so bloody obvious? oh, that would be rev6 and the idiots of other corrupt sites/forums that decided to show step 2 anyway.

oh and for the record i haven't posted on the silkroad offical forums in a long long time, and at that i think i only posted once? and then too i used a name of an alternate character on an alternate server, there was limited peopel who knew the id and i know for sure none of them would go about stealing a useless empty account anyway.

it's using forceable means to break into anothers belongins, if it was physical it would be breaking & entering, digitally its hacking, though this is just a lesser mass used exploit of a hack, not a full bore super geek hacking the pentagon to buy some pizza type shit.
a scam is trickey, this is not.
head out ass plz. kthx

Hmmm some people just find it really hard to take responsiblity for their own actions.

As it was stated, if you had followed every precaution as Joymax advises constantly, wouldn't have happened.

ID: Use letter and numbers. Not necessarily random. Don't use same ID on any site related to the game. Don't give it out. Not even to your awsome friend you knew for a whole year online.

Email Verification: So far seems obvious people who got hacked did not use it.

Joymax.com. Big woop. Person got hold of your portal information. They still don't have your Account information. They were somehow able to bypass the S.A part. But big surprise, if you had Email Verification, wouldn't have happened.

NOw am I saying Joymax should do absolutely nothing? Nope. I think they should have a customer service department. Every company that makes a product or provides a service has customer service because they know people are idiots.

But I've whined and posted numerous times about lack of customer service. Its not changing and probably won't. You got screwed. Joymax should help you recover your account.

But a rollback? No way, why should the rest of the server suffer for your stupidity?

I'm sure someone will write, wait until it happens to you. Well already has happened. I got scammed. Lost all items. Lost all gold. Lost all SP farmed. And character was deleveled 56 times.

Am I blaming Joymax? Or SilkroadTavern? or SRF? Nope. I was stupid. It was the first acocunt I ever created in SRO. SRO is also the first MMO I ever played. I was a complete newb. No one to blame but myself.

ROFLMAO

You think Joymax is the first company to have had security flaw in one of their products?

Let me ask, what large software company after some assw1pes worked really hard to find security flaw and try to destroy the product or other people's computers, did the computer come out with some big compensation for all software users?

What you think? Joymax is perfect? Everything they come out with, all products are completely air tight security?

Gimme a break. Get real.

Either way, if you or your friends hadn't run around giving their account information away and not following the advised procedures to secure your account, wouldn't have been scammed.

Its that simple. Joymax.com had a security flaw. But was not their fault you got scammed. You only have yourself and this crap Silkroad Community to blame.

If you actually do it, take some pictures. But I probably wont' have to, just turn on the news. Teenager from a game called Silkroad Online, after seeing his friends scammed do to his own stupidity decided to try and afflict damage to Joymax's headquarters and its employees. But as we can see, he was immediately subdued before he could do anything. There he goes in the police car...

Actually in a few cases, JM did a good thing O.o
My friend's lv 80 char was stolen months ago. Thanks to the exploit, i could hack it back easily without Step 2 because my friend told me all info he knew about the char.
Email was changed, name were changed etc.
But only ID and secret answer weren't changed, (they cant be).
Thanks to the exploit i could log in on joymax site and change the password with the secret answer. Immediately changed all the info too, and gave the ID/PW to the friend who lost the char. He is happy now, because he lost a Lv 80 fully farmed glavie, but now has a Lv 80 blader (the hacker changed him to blader), one what he wanted to have since long time.

Ruckus your really being an idiot atm, it doesn't matter if ppl knew your id or how they got it, the fact is if joymax made this exploit possible, from what I understand they knew about it for a while now and only did something when it was made public.

If someone knew your ID, ok well so what right? they cant do anything just like now, so big deal, thats how its supposed to be but because of some exploit on joymax's new site anyone reading rev6 and knew your id but knew jackshit about hacking could take your account, how the **** is that your problem, your being worse of an ass then joymax saying that its their own fault for getting hacked. And so what if lots of site have security flaws, do they find out about them then do nothing for so long, then totally deny it after its made public how to do it then patch it? Stop being an ass and trying to blame those who got hacked, it's not their fault.

Maybe in part things wouldn't of happen if ppl were more secure about their ID but that doesn't make it their fault.

before i lock this, ruckus i think it is? wello on here, anyway... there is one thing you are wrong about that you are also using as a basis for your argument:

the only people who were able to be hacked ("Scammed", whatever) in this way were the ones who HAVE used email verification, not the ones who DIDN'T.

hence why JM is now literally forcing all users who used that system to change their passwords.

anyway, before this turns into another Jex vs. "insert name", locked.
