More updates on the silkroad HACKING

Post by Zulu »

Okay guys here is whats going Joymax have fixed the bug on the portal website however... bad news to all. I feel sorry for the 1000s of people who have lost their items and characters. Trust me this is not a BOT issue everyone know that now as the exploit have already been made public.

I have got my friend who speak fluent Korean to call Joymax HQ in Korea and it is bad news there will be no roll back. This was stated from the manager.
He stated:
1. It is a free game
2. Any item lost due to hacking mentioned in the terms and condition will not be recovered.
3. Lost of account is the users fault.
4. We do not help users with hacking issues.
5. We do not roll back data because of hacking.

Sorry guys there is nothing we can do I wish you guys luck in the game as this is my final farewell.

What we should do is spread this to all the sites to make people aware of what has happened and whats going on. I have wasted 2 years on this game and thats a lot of time imagine 3 hours a day 365 days a year thats more than 1000 hours. If that time was used for work then imagine how much money it is. They do not read the forums morningdrew have left the company, GM Crayon have also left etc ever since the company have gone from bad to worse.

Some of you might asked so what I can I do?

I will give you some advice.

1. Quit the game.
2. Call your lawyers if you have the money to sue them.
3. Seek legal advice.
4. Charge back all the silk you have purchase for that account you will be supprise how much money you have spent.
5. Get a life go do something good luck.

funny how they say that its the user's fault for their website being bugged.

i didnt expect a rollback. but for them to place the blame on the players is just so lowbrow. then again what can you expect from jm

If your story is indeed true (no offence, but this is the Internet... A grain of salt goes a long way)

1. And the item mall is what, a farce? An illusion? Is Joymax a multimedia branch of some charity organization?
2. Botting isn't allowed by EULA either, funny eh?
3. Except hacking in this case was exploiting FAULTY CODE ON THEIR SITE.
4. See above
5. Then at least act like a responsible company and give your customers some kind of compensation...

Edit: meh, beaten to it...

users fault
I AGREE

Those getting hacked would probably be called cheaters who used a bot and got hacked. I hope Joymax doesn't hate us too much since making this exploit public was pretty harsh.

Sadly not all the people got hacked read forums / post etc some are not english literate, I picked this up ingame as there is a random list of people throwing names about. Keep in mind it is not only Tibet it is in Venice and Xian also. The hacker have posted a picture of all his gold and it have accumulated to about 100bil of gold the game now is so inbalance there is no point in playing.

My friends so far have charge back over $3000 spanning over 2 years with multi accounts. It is a crazy amount of money and I not sure if it work but before I have also charge back when I was playing on Babel for $400+ and got all the money back.

Well its just my advice take it or leave it please do not flame it is not needed thanks.

If your friend can contact the manager, why not ask him to ask the manager directly why the hell they don't rid the servers of all bots also

Anyways thx for insight on this issue.

They say Bot is a big problem but there is only so much they can do the bot is caused by the user and not the game. If people do not buy gold then there would be no gold bots. If people not in rush to get to 80 then there would be no bot. How can they check for bots because the bots play like human players it is too time consuming to check everything it will slow down the progress of future updates.

My translation.
1. Bot = gold = Joymax
2. Ban = bad business less players = less money
3. Open new server = more money = more pay

They will try their best to fix the bot issue but users will have to help themself and not support the gold company. Well it all BS.

They're good at playing dumb... Also the last line roughly translate "We're too lazy and we make money anyway, why bother?" Oh no, right, it's a free game, I forgot...
Get proper GMs, put an ingame image verification code... Too time consuming wtf, just walk outside DW west gate already...

Packet Sniffing, ladder bots, there was a java script exploit on the joymax.com website that gave some guy 11k IDs he could hack. Try signing in with harrypotter, harrypotter1... etc. Any popular ID you use would be easy to figure out. They can easily get id's by saying... lol, Q8's id is kuwait1234...

The ability to get a hold of some1's account by simply knowing their id means any random person with random id can be hacked. Sure it won't be a personal attack, but it sucks when some legit gets his id randomly guessed by some1.

Technically, you don't own anything... Not even your characters in game... :P

Main reason why ebay stopped auctioning off game accounts or in game items/gold...

Yes, and that's why it's so convenient that the previous hole in Joymax security was the publication of user IDs. Combine the two, and you're screwed...

On the other hand: I did manage to take back the account that was stolen from me in January. :)

No, you can chargeback to a maximum of 60 days. So anything that you bought 61 days ago wo't be able to be chargedback.

And as Dopp questioned the 1000 people? Doubt that too.

Oh and lol at ANYONE who says they are going to get a lawyer. One look at the T.O.S. and any qualified lawyer will give up.

If you used paypal to pay for silk you can charge back anything up to 10 years. Just search for the ID and raise a dispute.
