The mentality of everyone saying no, is "i won't get hacked/ haven't gotten hacked, it might pass over. You never know their reasons, maybe they got something to +11 first try, maybe they are just botters, it doesn't matter, the problem is the legits that got hacked because of spite and envy on the side of the botters that got hacked. Either way, it's a lose/lose situation. You either get botters back in the game with all their sosuns, which will happen eventually anyway, or you lose more legits.

Okay, here's how things are sitting right now at JM:

Say X amount of people got hacked. If Joymax does an individual rollback on certain accounts, they will without doubt get XXXX amount of 'I got hacked' reports. The problem with this is, people will transfer all their items to a separate account and claim they were hacked so they can receive double the items. If they do decide on rollback, they would have to check thousands of log files and ban the accounts any and all the items were given to and then restore items to the account that they were taken from. Therefore- if they tried to scam they'd get banned and only have their items replaced and no others.
But if they do that, then they would have to spend weeks checking logs and trying to figure out legitimate hacks and fake ones and spend an extensive amount of time to replace everything. There will not be a server-wide rollback on any server; it is not even being considered whatsoever. With all the harassment and complaints right now, they might not even do individual rollbacks because of the vast number of false reports they WILL receive. Server-wide rollback would ruin the events and item mall purchases that were just done in the last two weeks.
as for a compensation event, 100% exp/sp increase and 30% drop increase sounds good to me, but this could mess up the economy moreso than it already is.

So, either a compensation event or the individual rollback which would end in several banned accounts. This means: People who hacked, people who purchased, and then people who did anything further with stolen items would be hacked. I don't think it's fair that anyone who sells the items or buys them should get banned.

Thoughts? Opinions?

basically- if you have a good and helpful guild/union then hopefully they will help you rebuild because with how greedy the community is- don't expect your items returned, any bans, or an immediate reaction. There's a LOT to think about.

oh, and according to logs the msot gold anyone on Tibet had was 2 bil. Nowhere near 61bil.

Very nice post.
I had a suggestion (which would never have mattered anyway, but still) however it didn't take the "fake" hacked accounts into consideration.

See? it's not that easy. we're working on something but a solution that covers all bases is kinda hard. There's so much to consider and it's hard to do fast.. things could be half-ass fixed or people can chill and wait for a well-rounded outcome.

Nobody whatsoever on Tibet has had over 2bil. That's an up-to-date figure.

well I dunno about that, seeing as selling/ recieving stolen property is an actual crime in real life. I think most players know thier servers pretty well and who is packing what, ect. So in light of everything that's been going on I would be very skeptical towards the innocence of people buying and selling sosuns/ capped uber gears.

if i saw someone with my bow, theyd be my in-game rival for life.
this might build up in-game feuds if nothing is done (after all, they mustve gotten ur ID from either you, a friend, or maybe ur just too predictable).

it might spice the game up :S

No, because only a /tiny/ percentage of people have been affected by hackers recently. This is awful, obviously, and I send my sympathy to everyone but there is a huge amount of people who have not been affected and may not even know about this whole dilema.
But yes if everyone stops talking about it :P

A roll back would put us back into the middle of the event (or possibly right after or maybe even before). I think putting X amount of silk on X amount of players would be a lot easier then checking every "hacked" characters activity logs. Quotes for false reports.

A roll back with an immediate compensation event of 100% exp/sp increase for the same amount of time as the roll back seems to make the most sense. So many people complaining about lost time well if they do a 2 week roll back, during the first week of the compensation event you would have your lost time back and during the second you'd be where you were had their been no roll back exp and sp wise.

I'd rather see Joymax prepping for the 90 cap and Christmas event rather then spending time checking logs instead of just predating this is one swift move and replacing silk.

For the record, my suggestion would have been for JM to give any player who could provide evidence their account had been wiped (screenshot + subsequent server log investigation) before the exploit was fixed a "startup kit" with 100kk, 10ish elixirs and other goodies, along with offering to change the account ID... Something to get hacked accounts back on track.
Though yeah, seeing JM going through that work was... optimistic to say the least.
