Personally, I think it's an error caused by too many people trying to log in at the same time and overloading the login server(s).

I don't think that's the case, since those who can log in now are able to exit their game and log in again right away. If it were a 'too many connections' issue, those people would not be able to get back ingame after they quit.

I actually did that thing in Mixmax's Sig!

Naw can't be it, I can't see anyone wanting to play this, and no one would stay up to ungodly hours to see the new updates.... Nope, can't be it ;-)

did that several time LOL. I also reinstalled twice... also booted up my second machine which I never installed SRO on before and tried that.

All a no-go.

Which leads me to thinking it's a login server congestion error. Which is why some people are able to slowly get in and others can't.

All I know is that apparently there are the loved and the unloved...and I happen to be unloved.

Well, that would be a good thing, because it would mean that as more and more people are able to log in, fewer people will get this error, and we will be able to log on. I hope it's something like that. :)

EDIT: Another thing that supports this theory is that people with all kinds of different computer configurations are getting the same error, while people with the same configurations can log in. :)

Hopefully that is so.

As for those that can log in and out and back in... they could be people very close to the servers so they can get their packets there faster without timeout.

With the error message being mostly ??????? it's hard to diagnose the problem to find a solution.

Yes.

But for the people getting the error - be sure to click on the LEFT button. That apparently sends an error report to the Silkroad crew. Though I guess by now they KNOW something is wrong. ;)

The error message (displaying processor and system ram) doesn't seem fitting for a server connection error. Also, how much of an increase in users were they anticipating today? My friend and I just started a few days ago and were able to create accounts no problem. I don't understand why there'd be a sudden influx of new players over the course of one day. I'd guess there's an issue with the executable or some sort of driver error.

What's worst is when you try again after doing something that 'might' fix it(in your eyes at least) and then having it sit for few moments errorless, and then it hits you hard. Kinda like... :banghead: ...that

*SIGH* It's times like this that the little kid in all of us comes out.... We all are really excited to see new things, like kids at Christmas. We all start and restart the SRO exe, and think after we hit the button "come on, I know you'll do it this time". If only we could be like this for everything else in life :) :D

the least they could do

Post by celoco »

the least they could do is.. give us some type of message regarding this error.. im in the u.s and i stayed up to play but i mean if its a quick fix or its just servers that are being hammered by too many people trying to login id understand that but at this point in time they arent even acknowledging the problem.. they should let us know something so that those of us that are tired can just call it a night

Ok thank god .. I also being the "technical savy " person I am have reinstalled twice ...

It is now 6:51 koren time ( 51` mins after it was supposed to be open )

and I still can't get in and still get this error... damn I hope that it is just that the server isn't open and its not a "real" error !!
