Snudges' Money Making Guide

Post by Snudge »

Ok, I had this in my mind for a while so I thought, why not write it? ^_^

The begin.

If you're a new player(or just starting fresh on an other server), you'll most probably want some money to begin with.
Logic. A good way to do so is, to make a "dummy" char.

-Optional-
The "Dummy".
For a "Dummy" I would reccomend a char with a glaive and the protector set. Why? Because the glaive doesnt need arrows-> less money. Also the glaive doesnt use a shield-> Less repair costs. Simple. Also the glaive does more damage over a spear, allwoing you to kill monsters faster. Thats what you want. Kill monsters fast, to get a lot of money.
Whatever you do with this char is up to you. I just reccomend to train it 'till ~lvl 10-15, whatever you feel is best.
-Optional-

Starting up.
You made yourself a new char. Now what?
Begin with the quests. Do every quest you find(If you forgot where a questgiver was, look in this thread). As quests give you items(MP/HP herbs, equip, money, all good) you will need to expense less money. As you gain in level, you will notice you start to earn more money.

The real stuff.
Ok, so now you start some serious money. Often when you have to respot, you'll notice that you have ~5-7k(depending on your level, I think this was approx. what I earned around level 8). Now here is where the storage kicks in. Everytime you have to repot, deposit ~2-3.5k in your storage.
Why?
This is going to be the money for your "real" character.
Do the same with any good drops you find, which may be usefull for your later character. If you happen to find a SoX in the meanwhile(which I doubt, but the chance's always there) sell it.
Money!
If you notice that after you have repotted, you still have money left, put that in your storage, and put more in the storage the next time you have to repot.
You may want to continue this progress of storin, repotting, leveling, etc. untill level 10-15 as I said, it's all up to you.

Your "real" character.
Now make your real character. Do whatever with him/her what you like, but dont delete your "Dummy". You may want to use this as a shop char lateron!
If you haven't made a "Dummy" you'll want to excersise the same progress described in "The Dummy" section. So each time you repot, put some money in the storage.
If you have found any items, put them in the storage.
Now, sometimes you can't play Silkroad because you will have to work, go to a party, etc. If you have put your items in the bank, take them out.
Make a "Stall day". You won't be able to play, so why not make money in the meanwhile? You'll earn it while doing other things. Simple!

Edited!
Hope you guys like it, and find it usefull. If you notice anything thats need to be changed, or see any typo's, please notify me.

I am sorry.. but this is simply one of the worst ideas I have ever heard. Instead of spending all this time on a dummy character why dont you just spend that time on your real character. That way you have more experience with your char then some chinese farmer bot build. There are better ways than creating a new character to save money. Fight weaker monsters and use smaller pots usually works the best.

I must agree, if you level up quicker, the cash from one normal drop sold to merchant can be worth more then the cash earned from 1-15.

I would not recommend sitting (unless you're tired of grinding and want to chat with friends, or do whatever else IRL :D ). Because sitting is a waste of time IMHO... sure you may save some money but you'll never earn XP while sitting...

Actually, I'd rather be level 5X than 4X with 2 or 3 millions more...

too much sitting not good for ur butt.

btw. if u sit, u waste time, u cannot kill enuf monsters.
if u pot. u can kill alot more monster and in the meantime earn back the money used to buy the pots to kill the monsters.
eventually u will break even whether u sit or use pots. but u will lvl up faster.
stupid guide -.-

OK. Here comes my guide for earning big money:

"Pickup all money you see, put it in your storage, sell all you have in a stall and be a merchant."

WOW what a guide. That's all you have said, exept the merchant that's mine  . So my opinion, this guide is just a big description of what everyone over lvl 20 should know. :D :D

But however it's nice. :)

other tips:
buy gear from stalls that are cheap, don't worry about stats etc on gear until you hit the 20's. You (shoudl) go through levels way too fast to care. The exception is SP farming.

DO NOT USE ELIXIRS ON GEAR UNTIL LEVEL 38+. Its cheaper to buy + items then make them. The sale price is not worth it (unless its a SOM or sun). 32, 36 SOx weapons is worthwhile to use elixirs on.

Buying jewelry every 6 levels is a waste. SOS jewelry is a waste. SOS gear at low levels is a waste (unless SP farming).

Stall things (if you have the space) for 10k over NPC sale price if no stats, more if stats are present.

SOS weapons are pretty, and will help you level faster bu are not necessary.

Time spent in town shopping is time that could be spent grinding and getting drops.

Buy your gear ahead of time so you aren't forced to buy the only weapon at your new level that happens to be way overpriced.

Don't use the teleporters

stone tigers and chajkis have a great drop rate, use that to your advantage.

Grind green mobs, not blue, not white, not gold, and not red. Fast kills = few potions, fewer repairs and more drops.

:D...

Instead of making a "dummy" char, just use your main char. You can gain money and lvl up/sp farm at the same time! Amazing...

why choose a glavie over a user with a shield? if you really want to save money, use the shield. Saves you loads of hp pots, and the repair costs are what 2-3k?

Well atleast until you get higher on, then good shields are pwetty expensive also

Fastest way of earning money without doing anything :!:
Wander around shops in jangan, there will usually always be something that's priced way below the actual price.
Buy, sell for the price it's worth :P
Made alot of money before hitting 20 doing that :D
