So I guess one is equal to 2.

No that part's is right. -2y+y=-y But what Innovacious said, if x=y, x-y is 0 and you can't divide by zero.

You think you're smart because you take 'higher' math, so your basis is on how much you know, well then you'd be dumb by your own standard because you don't know anywhere near enough to be considered smart. The main reason is you're in 10th grade, come back in 20 years and maybe you'll have touched the edge of the word 'smart'. No need for your ego to run out of control here even if your mom reminds you you're smart everyday.
