Well, if it matters, check out the demo lol. I'm pretty sure the guy that died right off the bat had no helmet, same with the other dude you travel with before taking out the GPS receiver.
Yeah, well I don't know if every soldier has it or if its all about the main character, all I know is that I heared -read- that the helmet filters out the negative aspects of the war, and that thats the reason why the battle first takes place on a tropical island.
I guess wel'll find out for sure when the game is released, so far I'm pretty curious what the entire game will bring.

Black Friday.....day after thanksgiving. I'm not sure about Canada. They'll release a circular about it before hand so you'll know if they'll have the sale or not.
Ya, you should be able to run it well. I'd wait on CoD4 though if you don't mind steam. The game right now has minimal multiplayer options. No friends list, no matchmaking and no server organization by server options. Waiting for the steam version might privy you to at least join your friends without searching through servers.

Hmmm, I was not aware that there would be a Steam version? When is that expeted? clue me in brutha!
5 levels in and I can say this not NOT farcry on crack. What I've seen in the last 2 levels is definately new to this dev team but nothing new to the genre. I've read from reviews there are also indoor areas that are good and I'll be awaiting those.
So far so good.
Well I just lost track of time. I'm on the 7th level where the game has its twist, sort of. Really having fun, especially on level 6 which is unlike anything I've ever played before.

I finally played the demo last night. Looks friggin' awesome. I was able to play it all on very high, but had some choppiness, so I just dropped it all down to "high" instead and it still looks rad.
I also played the COD4 demo too. niiice. really chaotic, sometimes a bit too much. sometimes it can be hard to know what the F is going on! lol

have u seen Crysis with Graphic at max?....and Cod 4 at max?
Cod are my prefer games,but Crysis beat Cod4 in Graphic..
its all in a matter of opinion really.
edit- it depends on who is playing. you may notice the high def landscapes in crysis, but then again that doesnt really appeal to me while I would rather see customized weapons or destruction of items ect ect. its all just a matter of what we like to see and which portrays it better. and remember i just played the demo.. it's taking forever to dl

Everyone knows Crysis has the best looking graphics in a video game. It's a given til something more powerful comes out.
I like them both, so far, for different reasons. I've always been a fan of the CoD games, so I'm sure I'll like it. Sure, they're really linear, but they sort of have to be. Anyways, they both look amazing, but IMHO it's not even close, with CRYSIS blowing everything else away. But, you gotta have a pretty tough machine to be able to take advantage of all those features.
I've only played the demo for each, so I'm not sure. The demo did not come with any extra DX10 options in the settings. Does the full version of crysis include something like this? Thanks!
Course it has DX10 features. It's the 'very high' setting option.
CoD4 is more linear than previous have been. I especially hate their inclusion of 'monster closet' spawns. Enemies keep spawning if you don't hit a certain point or complete a specific objective. Asinine game design.

No lol I mean since Crysis is mainly SP oriented, and UT3 is mainly MP oriented, that UT3 and Crysis will be the best games in their respective strengths. Graphics is sorta the middle ground, both games look amazing, but I'm a sucker for UT so they get my vote for better quality.
