11 lvl difference in powerlvl or more?
So i am powerleveling a friend at Sonars atm when i have some free time. Been at sonars since he was lvl 41 and now he is 46. He is going 0 gap because he wants to farm at cap. Anyways, he noticed that he was getting more exp/sp from normal/pt mobs when he was lvl 41 (16 lvl difference), than he is getting now at lvl 46 (11 lvl difference).
lvl 41 - getting 0.03% from normal mobs and 0.21% from party mobs
lvl 46 - getting 0.02% from normal mobs and 0.09% from party ones
As i've read on the forums, people say 11 lvl difference player - mob gives the max exp/sp possible, and if higher u have an exp penalty. I am confused, can anyone explain?

Well ... I'm getting powerleveled at mages now ... getting 4k exp per normal mob ... they are like lv.78 and I'm 64 ... and when I was getting leveled at snipers (lv.64-65) I got less exp , round 3k .... O.o

So does it mean it would be faster to go powerlvl him at snipers i.e instead of sonars?

i'd really like a good straight guide on plevleling. my guildmate is 48 we're at sonars 57. he gains 0.02% ormal mob. he has a 6 mastery gap. i tried onte time to go to the yetis lvl 59-60 and he started getting 0.03% so i said wtf, let's go to snipers. on our way there, the fishes gave him 0.02%, worms gave him 0.02% and snipers, gave him 0.01%
but what the hey, at his level, i can get me 0.02% on a 4 gap. got pissed a bit at the situation.
i'm a grateful grape

The point is that there is no penalty on the XP if the difference between highest and lowest level on the party is 20. For that reason when the char that is being powerleveled get to lvl60 he will get more xp from niya generals than from niya guards.

Latest additionNow that I kill them all I can rest in peace ^^
facts:
Me lvl 46
Pwrlvler lv 64
Penon fighter (54) : 6,000 xp
Sonar (57): 15,000
Me lvl 43
Pwrlvler 64
Penon Fighter (54): 12,000 xp
Sonar (57): dont know, 12 k was enough for me
So I level 3 levels and I lose 6,000 xp on every pt mob. 11 lvls really is the best difference. I once tried to go on mobs 10 lvls higher and they only gave me 60% of what I got on mobs 11 lvsl higher

That's normal. It's just like saying u got 20% exp per kill at lvl 1 and and 16% exp per kill at lvl 2 by hunting same mob.

It's 10 lvl difference ie if u are lvl 10, someone pwrlvl u at mob lvl 20 will give the max exp.
Higher than 10, u receive penalty
Lower than your lvl, u also receive penalty.
So... the max exp happens when 8 players same lvl (each one give 2.5% exp bonus) pwrlvl each other and hunt mob higher 10 lvl.

1) Were there more ppl in the party when he was 46?
2) Very true you should go to Karra's now since your 46. WAY more exp. You will need to move out of Karra's near 58, Then move Guards, then snipers, then rotate to Mages/Shaman.
3)It's around 15-17 levels difference, not 11. Used to be, not anymore.

Wholy crap. A gazillion posts on this subject and everyone gave half true answers. Then comes NuclearSilo and all is good in the world. I have been going crazy trying to figure this out and everything you say makes sense. Does that 2.5% only come into play on party mobs or all mobs?
Tomiotar. Even if the person powerlvling is within 20 lvls there is still a reduction of XP on mobs higher than 10. (at least regular mobs, didn't test on party)

The difference is 11 levels.
Also i've noticed that when im p-lvling and adding 3 or more newbies in my party, the exp/sp from a pt mob doubles. This sometimes happens with only 2. Every other party member i add after that gives me less exp/sp.
So it's not like every pt member gives me 2.5%, there is a certain threshold where the exp doubles from PT mobs only, the exp from regular mobs only goes less when i add more party members

party mob exp is calculated based upon the levels of the players within the party. i dont know the exact formula but from experience, when i was in a pt penon party with 2 low lvls being plvled, party mob exp was high, but when they left the party mob exp decreased by 2. so..party mob exp depends on the levels but dont really know the formula, probably if avg party lvl is 11 lvls below the mob party mob exp will be at its greatest. iono

10LVL difference is ideal for mob to the person being plvled. 11lvls will be when the penalty kicks in.
The 2.5% was referring to everyone in the party being the same lvl. Not in a powerlvl situation. I am also guessing that the 2.5% refers to regular mobs only, though I am not sure.

I've always heard the person you are power leveling will get the most exp per kill at mobs 11 levels higher than him. So if he's lvl 34, take him out to the lvl 45 ultra blood flowers outside Hotan. After 11 levels, exp per kill decreases.
That's my understanding of it anyway.
Off topic to the main question, but related story:
The other day, I was in an 8-man party at the mujigis. We were all in the range of lvl 45 - 53. Some lvl 64 glavier came by and joined our party. I thought cool he can help us....
He didn't do much killing, then left the party. His lvl 34 friend came tracing him on a horse, and the 64 glavier kept PMing me telling me to take my party elsewhere or he'll KS because he's plvling his friend. He kept trying to KS our pt giants, but when he tried, I just repeatedly knocked it down and double stabbed it. True, the rest of my party couldn't get in any hits, but I didn't want him getting any exp for it either. My party would still get exp from it.
He only spoke German, I don't, but I used a translator website to basically tell him in German "Do you even understand how power leveling works?" After that, he just shut up and leveled his friend for about 10 minutes a distance away from us.
And people wonder why a lot of us don't like power leveling.....
