Eternal youth?

Post by Casey613 »

I was thinking, there's a disease called Werner Syndrome that causes premature aging t a very fast rate (somewhat like Jack, the movie starred by Robin Williams), and I thought that maybe someday technology will allow scientists to completely figure out that gene that codes DNA helicase and the way chromosomes work with it. So with that same technology, perhaps we will be able to do the same as the Werner Syndrome but all the way around. Old, millionaire ladies whose beauty is fading away or already has years ago would pay a fortune to be young again..

3. Would mess up millions of years of evolution

That dude off the Andy Milonakis
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Milonakis

He's actually 31, but doesn't look much old than 14/15

And if you don't believe in one?

Honestly, this comes down to money just like any other social issue. People with money will live "forever" and the average person won't. Whether thats fair or just the workings of our economic system, you decide. Personally, I'm all for human advancement. I dont know if I'm right, but I believe I'm somewhat of a humanist (furthering human abilities)?

Life is never fair and all the soccer moms and such that try to make it carebear and equal are fighting a neverending battle.

People can in theory live to 150........ There is some thing called Calorie Restriction

Calorie restriction or Caloric restriction (CR) is the practice of limiting dietary energy intake in the hope that it will improve health and retard aging

http://www.longevitymeme.org/topics/calorie_restriction.cfm

Ohpra had a health special with Dr. Oz and he explained how this practice has scientifically shown improved life spans of humans ...... of course many things happen in our lives.... but that is one option proven to show results !!

:D :D

and **** your magical stories of an invisible father figure who doesnt give a shit ..i swear the more ppl swallow that bs the more assholes r produce
you can be nice/not cheat/not kill/not steal without a book telling you so grow up and stop thinking youll be punish or that someone is watching u your not special once again grow and think getting tired of this religion bs devolution of the mind
If the concept of us being all one consciousness's and us being one thing that lives endless through the cycle of nature the only clear emotion would be understanding .

De aging is much like the theory of time travel. People believe it to be possible, but when it is looked at in reality, it is impossible. You can technically "travel into the future" but you can never come back. Aging is much the same. You can look young, but you can never de-age.

o__O ......that was a weird rant ... perhaps you need to chill but anyways ....technically ... you just "wore" your body by stressing .... which stress contributes to many diseases ....

and breathing in polluted air is only a fraction of things that diminish life expectancy .....

and as for the god thing .... i am secular and an atheist ..... but don't bad mouth people just because they believe in some thing that you don't......

get over it ... it's just a forum

not atheist and u you age cuz of oxygen/+ your white blood cells diminish
and other organs just dont stop functunaning cuz of all the things we eat/and take
so no matter what no human can live over 200yrs
its science something that flies above many ppl and
a thinking mind a mind that thinks about other things then if they look sassy with the green sweater so yeah sorry for the rant you and other live your lives either way youll find a way 2 hate it unless you have 8hrs of OC and other generic shows + brand new car + and suppose new label clothing ...sorry for not wanting that cycle
for wanting progress since a book written when selling your daughter was right yet killing a man wasnt dictates everything 2000yrs later
If the concept of us being all one consciousness's and us being one thing that lives endless through the cycle of nature the only clear emotion would be understanding .

all carbon life forms decay. even if we can live forever, we definitely would not be living in our bodies.

We can live forever. But you would not experience life, and the means of which to do it are unobtainable. The only way to live forever is to experience no time, and to experience no time, you must time travel, which is only obtainable when you move at the speed of light. Moving at the speed of light requires a near infinite force to do so, therefore, theoretically yes, practicality, not yet.
