I never understood how some people could sleep for 4-5 hours a day.
Anybody that says that they sleep for less than that, and doesn't have a medical condition, I just flat out don't believe them. I don't think you can even function like that. Maybe for a day or two, but then at long periods of time - months, years... yeah, right.
I try to get a little over seven hours of sleep on a normal night. I go to sleep at ~12:00ish, although I'm sure I could go to bed at 9:00 or so if I didn't browse SRF, or get on AIM, and did my homework as soon as I got home.
I usually get up at around 7:45ish and get ready for my school bus, which leaves at 8:20.
On weekends, I get like, 6 hours of sleep on a Friday night, and then more than 10 hours on a Saturday night.
It's because my parents are home on Sunday, but not on Saturday, so I wake up extra early on Saturday so I can use that time while they're not here. :]

As you grow older, you require less sleep. Rest helps you grow, and so the younger you are, the more sleep you need. By association, the more sleep you receive, the better your chances (as far as realizing your genetic potential) are of growing even taller.
Conversely, lack of sleep has been shown to have a negative effect on growth, especially during the first 25 years of your life, during which you are growing more than any other time.
