Yeah, before somebody tries to tell you that you dont need to farm SP let me intervene. DO IT! No matter what too much SP will NEVER hurt you. If you can tolerate it for just a few more weeks you could rocket to the level cap and dance a merry jig. There have been graphs that PROVE that the ratio of XP/SXP dramatically decreases as your level increases, this basically means it is easier to gain SP at lv 16 when you can train on mobs that have an almost instant spawn (Inside the bandit stronghold).

Yes, I farmed 9k at lv 16. I thought it was gonna be fine, I was bored with farming SP anyways, but it turned out I was wrong. I really did wish I had farmed about 50-75k at lv 16 because then everything would have been easier.

Well the question you should be asking yourself is, how many skills do you need to max? I farmed 19k at lvl 16, then kept a gap of 4 (keeping it this way most of the game). And i still get a lot of sp. Im lvl 40 now and i have more sp than when i started. About 21k if i remember right. Im maxing all the buffs on fire and lightning, and maxing 6 pacheon skills aswell. As soon as i see my sp is starting to go down to maybe 15-16k, i will simply raise the gap ;) Which havent been done yet btw.

In any case, you will thank yourself later on if you decide to farm.

this is what i did: I opened a 9-level gap from lvl 13 to 20. I was able to earn about 6.8k to 7.0k sp. Then i had 5-level gap onwards. So far, I am still earning more sps than the amount I spend to keep the gap. I am also doing quests. :D :D

Currently, I am lvl 29 and here is the breakdown of my masteries:

weapon: 24
> mastered all skills ( i like it this way :) )

Force: 24
fire: 24
> imbue
> fire shield
> fire protection
> flame wisdom
> passive

force: 24
> mastered all skills

Lightning: 24
> imbue
> grasswalk
> must pierce
> concentration
> lionshout
> passive

current sp: 6.4k
exp: 0.07%

If you are mastering fewer forces than me, then you will definitely earn more sps than me. :D :D

With 5-level gap, you won't feel bored killing the same mobs but get a decent amount of sp :D :D :D

Just to share a different view. I never did any sp farming and never kept a gap between my mastery level and char level. I'm now level 48 and still manage to max out the major attack skills, plus grasswalk and teleport, which will save you more time than increasing damage by puting sp into fire skills. I'll sp farming at level 70 with 5 level gap to max out my fire skills. BTW, i'm a pure str glavie.. If you are pure int, you better SP farm??

Hey hey :)
To offer some insight my newish self has experienced.

Leveling with 9 gap is well to put it frankly.. DULL
But farming 50k SP at level16 is no doubt duller

I levled from 0-10 before getting first fireimbue.
from 10-15 before making my masteries 10.
Atm I level with a 8 gap. Its very slow.
Killing 600 chakji's at level 20 got me like 30% into level
Thats a blast:D

atm i got 3500 Sp, masteries at 12 now. and im gaining way more than i use.

If i would grind the rest of my level i'd get 720 more.
So by this I would assume if i keep the gap i should have way more than i need. Thou i try to level the 3 forces, fire/light/ice. but I havent found many skills i want in there yet, so im ahead of schedule so far:D

Dunno how this will work out later thou.
but im sure you can skip the farming abit, if you just level with gap, it will just take forever to gain levels, either way it seems you cant avoid gaining sp in some way ;)

I'll go with a 3 to 4 LVL gap, i tried farming but I can't stand it to see all my friends fly past me, and later on, when I farm at the 40's or higher, SP farming will be less dull, 'cause you have more skills.

My experience is this:

First off, for your first character, pick the fastest build (pure str glaive or pure int nuker). Keep a 9 lvl gap beginning around lvl 14, til you get to lvl 20. Do the quests, it makes time go faster. In the end you have 5000 sp farmed. Avoid the temptation of mastering more than 2 masteries. After lvl 20, keep a 3-4 level gap. You'll be fine to lvl 60.

If you love the game by then, and are not afraid of starting a new character, then go back and do some hard-core sp farming. The need for this has to be shown, not told. When you do this, you have a better appreciation for the game mechanics, you know what your grinding for, and sp farming will go very quickly, cuz your used to grinding anyways.

The worse thing you can do is try to sp farm 50k right out of the gate, and loose interest in the game before you get to do a single trade run!

If I had to do this kind of sp farming in the very beginning, I would never have kept playing this game.
