call of duty perhaps? yes, call of duty has good online community
cs is just total gameplay, no ironsights for example

Ping is the same thing as your latency which you can view by pressing tab. Your ping/latency is your computers response time to the game server measured in MS (milliseconds). Below 100 is decent. Below 60 is good. Below 20 is great.
300 means the server is too far away or you have slow internet. Try joining a server that you ping 100 or lower.

I heard about them but i dont really go on servers where i dont know people. VIA is probably my favourite since it has custom skins and HLstats system.
EDIT: Looks like fragmasters has HLstats system aswell i'll check it out tomorrow.
