what grade are you in? I learned about the coriolis effect in 9th grade
basically its how the winds on earth are affected by the rotation of the earth
wikipedia's great for quick intros but sometimes they got really scientific definitions and it seems at wikipedia they talk about more than just winds

Oh, I remember that from watching the Simpsons.
Bart is arguing with his sister about which way the toilet will flush. He loses. His sister's like, "Only in the southern hemisphere will it go counter-clockwise!" (Or clockwise, I forgot).
And he's like, "NO YOU'RE WRONG."
And he calls this little kid in Australia, and ends up racking a huge bill for the kid.
Then they drag him over to Australia to prosecute him. :]
